I'm curious as to which perfume smells the least sweet, but with a citrus scent? Most vanilla and tropicaly or sweet scents tend to smell off on me, and musk is iffy. I currently wear Hermes Eau D'Orange Verte, but I'm looking for a new one. It's a men's cologne, which is what I typically wear. Or if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open to hear them. Thanks!

While we are on the subject of perfumes, do any of them resemble the soothing flowers lip balm? Thank you for letting me step in your thread Smile

Adelaide is one of my favorites - oakmossy and citrusy, it's one that needs to open up on your skin. Kristen is also very lovely, more spicy carnation on me.

I haven't tried the others, hoping someone who has will step in and share!

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

Adelaide and Dulcinea are the most citrus-y on me, but Dulcinea is definitely sweet. Adelaide is a little sweet too, but not in a way that goes "off." I have the same problem with some vanillas in sweet perfumes. The sweetness in Adelaide is more of a warm, floral smell. I love it, can't get enough of Adelaide.

Giselle is the most unisex, imo. You might want to try a sample since you mentioned you currently wear a unisex fragrance. Also...Madeleine has some lime and grapefruit notes. They are not very prominent on me, but your mileage may vary, so it'd be worth trying a sample of Madeleine too. HTH.

Coloring: 1.5 level skin with yellow undertones, hazel eyes, medium golden/reddish brown hair color. Surprisingly, I look best in neutral and cool-toned makeup. Love greys and pinks. Current Favorites: Magnetism gel liner, Rocks! Rouge in Breathless, Pinafore Color Cream, Adelaide EDT, Delicate Vanilla Bean Lipbalm, Ondberry and Maylily Spring Solstice!

I am not good at describing scents, but I recently purchased the fragrance sample set. It is only $14 and you receive enough perfume in each little vial for quite a few applications. I am really loving them all and have yet to pick a favorite. They smell different when worn than they do in the vials and blend in so nicely with my skin. I am wearing Kristin now and it started out spicy and mysterious and now just smells sweet and yummy! This migh be a good way for you to try them all and see which you like the best. Smile

Thanks green3! Glad to hear from someone who has the same issue with vanilla. It seems to be such a popular scent, yet... On some of us, not such a brilliant idea. When I run out of perfume, I'll be sure to try the sampler set that yogagirl89 recommended! I was just trying to see if I could rule any out off the bat, but if they smell quite differently on the skin than in the vial, I might be ok with many of the scents! Aromaleigh is never ceasing to amaze me, esp with the makeup, and as the makeup is such high quality, I'm presuming the purfumes are as well.

No problem. Be sure to let us know your reviews after you try samples! It's always interesting to hear how they smell on different people's skin.

The fragrances are definitely equally high of quality to the rest of AL's cosmetic line if not even surpassing them. I have several favs Madeleine is my go to one (really almost a signature scent), Isobel is definitely my romantic evening out fragrance, love Adelaide in Summer so warm but not overpowering floral and Kristen is my sexy passionate night with DH one to turn to.

Classic pale Ivory with freckles & pink flush tones. Now that I'm gradually graying, my hair color is constantly evolving. Currently a dark golden brunette (think a darker Mocha with some lighter golden brown highlights). Blue/Grey Eyes with flecking of brown, gold & khaki in the iris.

With fall finally settling in here, I'm about a 2 level Y(3)/L(1) at the moment, wearing more of the neutral tones-warmer neutral tones. In my natural state, I'm a true Winter from CMB. But I can easily get away mixing things up seasonally. White Gold/Platinum/Silver for jewelry, but can (and do) easily wear copper, rose gold and antiqued gold tones.

Awesome. I'm defs going to order some after the holiday season. Even though with these discounts... I'm very tempted. Thanks Ella, that's giving me ideas of wearing different perfumes on different occasions. I normally only wear one perfume, but vary if I scent my lotion or not. (I use olive oil, and sometimes I add a tad of lime, lemon or orange essential oil to intensify the smell of the perfume I use.) I understand they last for a shorter amount of time than synthetics, as do all natural perfumes, but does anyone know off hand if they last for at least 4-5 hours, in the winter, it's not a big deal if they don't, but I'll need to know if I'll have to carry around the bottle with me.

For me they do last longer than that, but I have a very sensitive nose. If I spray them in my hair in the morning, I can still smell them when I'm laying in my bed at nighttime. I think that's probably unusual though, I would expect they'd last 4-5 hours on most people.

YVW! Mine usually lasted 4-6 hours on me. Of course it does vary a bit seasonally and depending on if I've applied lotion/body oil first either. That usually gives me an extra hour or two of fragrance wear I find.
HTH,
Wink Ella

Ok! Yay, I'm safe then! Yeah, my nose isn't too sensitive due to allergies, but heavy perfume, natural, or not, bothers me on other people, so knowing that reapplication shouldn't be necessary is good, so I don't have to guess.
