I love Dulcinea when I have a romantic date or just want to feel sexy. On me, it's a little sweet and a little spicy.

For everyday, I prefer something a little more green, fresh, or herbal. Scents like rain, cotton, fresh cut grass, true apple blossom (which does not smell like apples!) or ocean breezes.

Do any of Aromaleigh's fragrances smell like that? Which would you recommend? Honestly, I don't know what most ingredients smell like, so I can't go by top notes, middle notes, or bottom notes.

Adelaide is very fresh, opens with a green note, the freshness of oakmoss (which as an ingredient is earthy, green, crisp). It's a soft green fresh scent, though - not sharp. It's one of my faves for warm weather.

I bet you'd enjoy that one immensely!

**********************
My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

I think you should also sample Kristen. Like you, I'm no good at describing top notes, etc, but Kristen is "peppy" to me. I wear Isobel when I want to be alluring, but Kristen is for fun days, zippy times, laughs and giggles.

I have samples of all of Kristen's creations, and then I bought larger sizes of my faves....I recommend you do the same! Plus, we have Giselle expected to arrive any moment!

Enjoy!

Yeah, the more I thought about it, the more I thought I should get samples of everything and try each scent on me.

Adelaide may be what I'm looking for.

I have trouble with synthetic fragrances. Many either smell like rotting fruit or cloying florals on me. So far, no such probelm with Dulcinea!

Oh Kristen, we are all so excited about the Valentine's Day kits....but I am especially anxious to try Giselle!!!

If I'm eager to buy my Valentine's kit, should I wait a day or so to include Giselle in my order?? (does that sound anxious? frantic? desperate??)

I will try to get the GIselle write-up done. I've been so focused on getting the kits programmed for the last week that I've had tunnel-vision. Now that that is done, I think I will have the girls package some samples today and as they are doing that (and I am smelling it) I may be able to get the wording right.

I've had some serious writer's block lately... under the weather, words never come my way easily!

I'm so excited about Giselle! I love fragrances, and I know natural ones are so much better for the body.

I personally love lemon scents with sweet notes added like vanilla or sugar...I hope some day AL carries a fragrance like this. :-)

Coloring: 1.5 level skin with yellow undertones, hazel eyes, medium golden/reddish brown hair color. Surprisingly, I look best in neutral and cool-toned makeup. Love greys and pinks. Current Favorites: Magnetism gel liner, Rocks! Rouge in Breathless, Pinafore Color Cream, Adelaide EDT, Delicate Vanilla Bean Lipbalm, Ondberry and Maylily Spring Solstice!

sotisse,
I know this doesn't make your decision making any easier, but you may like Madeleine too. It is sweet like Dulcinea but it is a little fresher with a hint of citrus, definately a daytime wear.
Adelaide is definately summery, green, grassy.
Isobel is heady, romantic, evening.
I haven't tried Kristen yet. I was intimidated at first but now I can't wait to try it! And I am another one of those that is sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to try Giselle!!
I would recommend sampling them all eventually because even with the descriptions it is hard to pinpoint exactly what will be the one that will really grab you. I was totally surprised.

Kristen is my fav, it definitely has an herbal feel(at least on me). I love Madeleine. On me it smells sweet with a little bit of zest. I can't wait for Giselle! I check the website everyday to see if it's there, yet.(I feel like I'm some obsessed perfume stalker! haha)

So, I did just that! Ordered a sample of everything! I love fragrances, but so many smell like "Raid" or some other bug killer on me. I used to sell cosmetics and fragrances in my mis-spent youth, and I remember one company rep telling me I had the "weirdest body chemistry" she had ever seen - because I made her company's very expensive perfume smell like cheese - not something I want to remember today. I'm hopeful that omitting the man-made fixatives, etc, will allow my body chemistry work WITH the fragrance oils, instead of against them. I'll let y'all know once I've had time to experiment. Can't wait!

...and when the man said, "If you didn't know how old you are, how old would you think you are", my kids butted in and said, "12!" So I'm 53 going on 12! Yep, that's me, 53 going on 12...I intend to be one very cool old lady - when I get to be about 105.

Mariesmom...I'm sure you'll have good luck with the AL fragrances. I think they're great. Madeleine's my favorite, though I'm stalking the Giselle page like everyone else. :-) Do please let us know how the different scents turn out on your body chemistry!

I really want to say something beautiful here.

Natural fragrances are alot like people. You will have first impressions, some you like immediately and some you need to warm up to.

Sample each fragrance, explore it, get to know it, and you may realize how special each one is!

It is awesome that these are the essences of the earth.
Essences from flowers, leaves, roots, bark and fruit.
Essences that come from all over the world to unite and blend to make a unique fragrance.
Now that is a beautiful thing! Cloud 9

If a particular fragrance doesn't quite mix with your chemistry, you can still place a drop on some blotter paper or tissue and inhale the beauty as a means of relaxation or just a simple pleasure. Enjoy!

Melissa Smile

Melissa,
What a beautiful message!

No wonder these fragrances resonate with us so much; they are allowing us to connect, to reconnect to the earth.

And, in a terribly shallow moment, let me add that your idea here has totally justified my perfume obsession. No wonder I am always trying new ones, always adding to my collection, always playing around with scent....I am finding new ways to connect with the elements.

Now, let's just cross our fingers that after months of labor, Kristen is about to deliver Giselle to us and we will read the birth announcement on the forum any time now! All these anxious cyber mid-wives, awaiting the newest member of the Aromaleigh family!

I, among many of you, can't hardly wait for Giselle. I've been really jonesing for that 'perfect' fragrance for me. I hope Giselle is it.

In any case, I'm sure it will be beautiful like all the other fragrances Kristen has crafted.

Sage, there are some perfumes that I LOVE in the bottle, but not on me. One was a gift to me, and i loved it, until I wore it. Yuk! Sooooo...I use it on a cotton ball (REAL cotton, please!) in my lingerie drawer. Doesn't really attach too much to the clothing, just smells really good when I open the drawer. Just a thought for those of you who have those expensive gifts you can't do anything with.
