Can anyone tell me the difference between Domestic Oils and Essential Oils?

What do you mean by Domestic Oils? I've never heard of that term. Do you mean fixed, or carrier, oils?

I'm no aromatherapy expert but my understanding is that essential oils are volatile while fixed oils are not.

Or maybe you didn't mean fixed oils?

Hi Marisa,

They are listed as options for making a fragrance--so I'm not really sure if they are fixed or not. Some of them are apple, coconut, lilac.

Okay, those sound like Fragrance oils to me. Fragrance oils are synthetic. Essential oils come from plants.

Kristen is the expert on this stuff. I know she's busy but maybe if you email her she can figure out what domestic oil is. I'm familiar with the oils mostly from my soapmaking. I've really never heard of that term before.
