Hello ! I´ll be the daring one and ask for a makeover.

Here are the pics:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/33133549@N00/2828368732/
http://www.flickr.com/photos/33133549@N00/2828368722/

Excuse the terribly messy hair...

Edit:
I´ll add this one:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/33133549@N00/103002940/

It´s old, but I though that maybe there should be something with a front view of my mug.

(click on "all sizes" to see a bigger version).

I have no idea whether my skin is war or cool, but I do have a pinkish cast from rosacea, grrr.
My eyes are a warm rich brown, and my hair is well... some kind of brown.
I look good in clothes with strong colours, like red, vibrant blues and greens. I look hideous in anything pale. But i make-up I´ve never strayed beyond brown and beige.
And I have no clue what lip colour would good look on me. Help !!!

Apart from a day look, I´d be really grateful for suggestions fro a night look. Something bolder, but still "natural" looking, I mean I want it to look right on me, not like I tried to hard.

Apart from that, I´d love suggestions from all readers about these questions:
* Shape of my eyebrows: They are quite thick (I plucked a looot on these pics), so I can do whatever I want with them The only thing I know is that they don´t look good too thin, apart from that, what shape would be best ?
* Side or center part ?
* I wanted to henna or highlight my hair a bit, to give it a nice tint... I feel it is a bit mousey... do you gree ? Which shade should I go for ? Warmer reddish chesnut ? Cooler bluish ? Honey-amber orange-ish ?

Thanks a looot in advance !

Well, first of all, you are so naturally pretty, you don't need much makeup, if any!

I'm not the best for recommending colors, but here's a start:

I think you might be a 2yl or 3yl in foundation, since your skin appears to be olive. I think you'd look great in berry tones for lipstick and blush. As far as eyeshadow goes, you could easily wear many colors. The best thing to do is to order samples of everything, since shipping is free & it's a great way to see if something works for you. Maybe take a look at some "Faces of the Day" posts with girls who are also olive complected, so you can see what looks good on them.

I hope this little bit helps. Reading through the website taught me a lot.

Foundation: 2y voile with a tiny amount of 2yl sometimes. (Can also wear 2W)
Lip Favs: Lollipop, Wallflower, Pinafore, Limbo, Zest
Blush Favs: Rococco, Tawny, Epitome
Eye Favs: Damask, Lola, Fiona, Ariel, Longing, Fairy, Seaglass, Shell, Willow, Marigold, Lisianthus & more to come!

You are a really beautiful girl! Kittycat has got you off to a good start. But check into this thread over the next couple of days and perhaps Bridget will be along to offer some color and application ideas just for you! She has done many makeovers for several ladies here and I'm sure she would love to "makeover" you! Smile
If you are interested in Goth ideas, Cinseven does Goth makeovers. Some gals have them done for fun even though Goth is not their regular look.
Stay tuned!

kittycat's suggestions are very good. Definitely look at the galleries to get some application ideas. Some basics you might want to start with:

foundation: I'd add some N and W shades to kittycat's suggestion. You seem to be on the neutral to warm side, so try a few samples of different things.

eyeshadow: start with some pale highlight shades. Alchemy Pure Hue is a favorite of mine. Maybe use the shop by color link on the AL webisite to browse- start with shades that seem comfortable to you, then branch out from there. For instance, Coco Mauve Pure Hue is a deep brown mauve with green highlights, which might be a nice transition to deep green shades. Personally, I think you might look good in burgundy and wine colors, though I love blue and teal on brown eyes as well. Smile

Blush- I like the Pure Rouge blushes quite a bit. The Rocks! blushes are also fantastic, but I think they are much easier to work with with a fiber optic brush. My favorite Pure Rouge is Glorious- though it says it's cool toned, for me the berry in it makes it pretty neutral. It looks great with wines, violets, and some warmer metallic colors.

Your lips are nice and red already, so I bet samples of the Rocks! lip tints would be really pretty on you. Again, I think kittycat is right on with the berry shades.

Hope that helps! Look at the galleries and FOTD here for some inspiration. I'm sure you'll get some other good input from other people here, too.

By the way, if you don't mind me asking- where in Poland are you/have you been living? My boyfriend is a native of Wroclaw.

custom mix of: voile/glissade 1YL-2YL plus a bit of Lilas Coquille. Green eyes, Dark purple/brown/black hair, freckles. Current faves: Bella, Sinisterrouge, and Luminary!

Thanks a lot to everyone !!!

Kittycat It´s really great to know that my skin colour is olive, you have no idea about how much I struggled to find out what is my skin tone... I have absolutely no eye for these kind of things. I will go and look at the Faces of the Day.

Desertsage I never thought about getting a Goth makeover, but it sounds like an awesome idea ! I´d love to try out something like that !
And of course I´m anticipating Bridget´s ideas for me with excitement !

oneirodynamia Thanks a loooot for the detailed suggestions ! I must say that I´ve never dared to put blue anywhere near my eyes. What shades do you think would work ?
I´m from Krakow, BTW :-)

Sassybanjo Thank you ! You made me blush !

I´m looking forward to more tips and advice !

Welcome Eternal Voyageur! I really enjoyed your photos - you are beautiful.
I've just been working on a slide show of some of my looks and I have olive skin as well - perhaps it would help you decide what you like and don't like (some of them are extremely "bold" and certainly not in line with what colors I "should" be wearing). If you are curious about what products I used - just message me with the title of the slide.

I think you would look fantastic with subtle eye colors such as Marigold and Sophie and certainly Gala lipstick (wine color). I wear a mixture of 3Y/3YL Glissade - but you look closer to a 3YL.

Hopefully Bridget will chime in - she is fantastic with color and technique.

Have fun!

Welcome! You are gorgeous, and I love the pic with your Grandpa!

I'd be happy to do a gothy makeover for you....I have two people that I'm working on now, and I never know how long it takes me to come up with an idea. Sometimes I look at people and get an instant idea, other times it takes me a bit.

But I'll put you on my list, and I'll let you know as soon as I'm ready or if I have any more questions for you to do it.

We look pretty similar in skin tone, eye color, and hair color (well, mine is currently dyed a darker reddish brown, but my natural color is very similar to yours.)

I think green shadow looks fabulous with brown eyes. Some of my favorites are Gilded Jealousy (Gothic Lolita collection), Grace (Midsummer Nights dream collection, which is discontinued but are currently still available for purchase), Moss (Pure Eyes Matte), Agate (Pure Hue), Aloe (Pure Hue), Sweet Pea (Satin Petals, as a highlight), Loden (Pure Hue).

Those are all fairly earthier greens, and easier to use when transitioning into other colors, but i also love brighter, more vibrant greens like Venom, Strychnine, Jigsawfeeling, and Estranged, all from the Rocks! line. Teals and aquas are also very nice with brown eyes. Like Aqua Nightmare (Gothic Lolita), Moonageddaydream and Endlesssea (both from the Rocks! line).

And of course, greens also look great with brown shadows! Smile

Purples also go great with brown eyes. Desire, Passion, Amethyst (all from the Pure Eyes Frost collection), Purple Princess and Violet Ruffle (Gothic Lolita), Stillinhollywood, Blueorchid, and Purplerain (Rocks! collection) are all good choices.

I agree that you would probably look great in wine and berry tones. Delicate Burgandy, Garnet, Russet and Zinfandel from the Pure Hue collection are great colors. Or Raisin, Tuscany and Wine from the Pure Eyes Frost collection.

Honestly, I think we brown eyed girls are very lucky in that a lot of colors look good with brown eyes. Smile

As for lippies, you must try Gala! Nuance is nice with more neutral/natural looks, as are Tender and Darling. Fling is a darker, warmer red that is great for night looks and easier to pull off than Vivid (although Vivid is a pretty neutral red that is the only true red RED lipstick I've ever been able to wear well, definitely worth sampling). Crush is another great lip shade.

The Rocks lip tints are all stunning. Honestly, I'd recommend sampling them all. Razz

As for your other questions:

My eye brows are pretty thick too, and just plain unruly. I did the super thin eyebrows once and thought it made me look odd. For the most part, I try to keep them as close to their natural shape as possible, and just clean them up a bit so they look well groomed. I wax all the strays above and below my brows, and all the stuff in between my brows (yay unibrow!), and then go over them with tweezers to get anything I missed and tame the really bushy part right on the inside corners. Thicker brows are supposed to be 'in' this season, so thank goodness for that.

I can't even decide on side or center part for myself. Wink I switch between the two quite often.

Ha! Well, like I said, my natural color is very similar to yours. I also think it looks mousy, which is why my natural color has rarely been seen in 14 years. I think a reddish chestnut would look nice, but then I'm partial to red tones. Smile

Oh, and welcome to the boards! Big Grin

The slideshow is fantastic ! It does give me an idea of colours. There are certain looks which I feel that I can work, others are not for me. Thanks a lot !!!

I'm waiting in excitement !

Many thanks for the detailed list !

Love your tips. i've been a bit afraid to try violets on my eyes, I feel that the wrong shade will make me look kinda old... and I'm not really sure which are the right shades ! I've also steered clear of aqua, but I might try it now.
I've also tried tweezing by brows fine, and it looked terrible... they look good only on find face structures. I need heavier eyebrows to balance my lower face.
