One of my bosses died from bone cancer yesterday and I'm going to the memorial service on Thursday. It's quickly turning into a company function on top of being a memorial service (as work was a huge part of his life and even as he was in the hospital, he worried about us out in the field without him).

I need help coming up with a makeup combination that's not going to be over the top but is still going to keep me from looking like a walking corpse.

Outfit is such:
black blouse with white trim at the neck & waist
black pants with aqua & white pinstriping
shoes are these
jewelry is silver wire-wrapped black & blue glass

HELP. PLEASE.

Hi Becky,
I am sorry to hear about your boss so I extend my condolences. It is so hard to say goodbye to those who have been a daily part of our lives.

I thought that you looked so nice when we met, not over the top at all (even if you were wearing Rebelrebel Smile ) and you had nice color to your complexion. So here are my thoughts:

For your eyes, use an all over color that blends nicely with your complexion like Fiona Lustre or Allure Perle and then for your lids or crease and vee, use a bronze or brownish color like Delicate Bronze, Coco Bean, Spark, Mocha Frost or Teddy Wisp. Even Earthen Sage may look nice and then you would have a hint of the teal theme.
For cheeks go with Corset, Verve or Rosewood.
For lips, go with fictionromance, tender or even lollipop.
HTH!
Melissa Smile

Becky, sorry to hear about your boss.

I agree w/Melissa, a simple look with neutral colors like Fiona and a brownish color would be appropriate, and the hint of color on your cheeks and lips will help keep you looking fresh.

I just finished my makeup - Well Suited and Teddy Wist on the eyes, Corset on the cheek (very lightly), and Noreservations on the lips. And now I'm off to finish the races & get out the door on time to join the convoy.
