Hi, Ladies!

I have a costume party on Nov. 1, and plan to go as a GlamWitch (as DH christened it!). I'll be in black (natch!), although I'm not sure of my head covering (traditionally shaped witch's hat or little hat from MIL w/a bit of veil and a straight up plume). I'll either leave my hair as it usually is, or try brushing it out for big fluffy/frizzy hair (very nearly bride of Frankenstein, in my case!). I'm also hoping to locate some "Harry Potter" iridescent fabric for a cloak with large stand-up collar (a la Snow White). It's basically black w/ blue & purple iridescence.

So, although I could do a black eye like Melissa's Smoky Velvet in the gallery, or a smoky silver, I was thinking of something like Cin's Gothy makeover for Ella, or the makeover Bridget did for StarryBatFish (in February). In our group, purple is "my" color.

What do you ladies think? Are there any other suggestions?

Ooooh, I'll vote for the purple! I do have one request - POST A PICTURE!!!! I'd love to see you all glammed up!!

I gotta go with Cin on this one, purples. I'd go super sparkly with Rocks! shades personally

I agree -- purple would be awesome! I recommend incorporating stillinhollywood in there, it's the perfect purple

I tried Bridget's using Wonder and Underworld. For some reason, they seemed to have a gold look to them, which doesn't look particularly good on me. I really wanted them to work! But, I'm attempting some of the other suggestions she had.

Cin's colors seemed to work best, so far. I did have to place a sample order to get StillInHollywood (oh, darn! ) and some other Rocks! colors to try. I'm suspecting there will be black lights at the party, so I hope to work out something reactive.

I should be able to post pics, but it may take a while. I have to go out of town the week after the party, and won't have Internet with my computer. My dad is on dial-up -- at super slo-mo speed. And, I'm still learning how to work with pics, as well as post them.

Ooh, Frances - GlamWitch indeed!

Brush out your amazing hair, but keep the portion from top of head to ear level fairly smooth, I vote for the veiled/plumed cocktail hat! SO glamourous sounding! Can you pleasepleaseplease do a true, saturated purple lip like the designers are showing for spring? I hunger for that sort of lip color - so chic and glam and edgy and offbeat - but no way I can wear it myself (at least I haven't found a good purple for myself yet).
