You see my makeup box is dreadfully empty!
Let me show y'all:


I tend to wear headscarves (tichels) a lot when it's hot or when I just don't feel like wearing a wig.

So I was looking for a look that is different for fall. I know, I know..."where's your hair?" you ask:


I'm looking for a Fall Day to Evening and/or Evening look. I tend to go for the subtly sexy, just rolled out of bed look. So you can go with the usual or with a more dramatic look.


Foundation: 5W Voile
Eyes: le mysterie #58;black liner smudged;black mascara
Cheeks/Lips: tarte in tickled

Hi Ariel, I don't know what products you already have, but if you want to buy pure frosts at 50% off I'd like to see you try
combos of lid colors in the warm range with tuscany, mocha, hazelnut, raisin and wine. I'd also be curious to see you in a deep shimmery green like loden and also passion and desire.

Have you ever tried a bright line with something in a cool color like amethyst or saphire with a neutral brown eyeshadow?

Hi Ariella, that first photo is too funny. Love your humor. I agree with blueAnn with the pure frosts on sale. You would look so stunning in the richer colors...I would stay away from the light/pale ones. They are too light for me and would probably look chalky on you. I think a lot of the PHs that were recently on sale would look gorgeous on you. I really like their clear rich pigmentation. Kathy

Agree. You need COLOR, girl, and you have the coloring to support it. The question is WHICH color...... blues, greens, purples, burgundys, etc. Try 'em all. Use the lighter colors on your eyes just for contrast to the darker colors. That's what's sso great about samples.

I don't have any experience with giving advice to women of color about makeup, though..... My admin assistant is from Pakistan, medium coloring. She loves the jewel tones for eyes, can wear lights, nudes and darks on lips, and generally wears a fairly vibrant cheek.

60 yrs old, darkish reddish-brown hair, very pale skin with both some yellow and a lot of pink undertones with a big bunch of goldish FRECKLES - 1C/1CL or 2N Voile, amber eyes, all-purpose warm-cool, summer-winter-fall-spring look. Love pinks and roses.
