Laura asked me to play, and I was pleasantly surprised when she turned up with black hair. It makes it so much more fun, since black hair means you can be a bit more dramatic! But I don't want to push her over the edge, I don't want the other mommies at the park to grab their kids and run screaming in fear.....just something a little edgier, a little funkier, to match the new hair.

We all know how terrible I am with foundation, so of course, Laura, go ahead with your usual 2Y.

For a blush, I want something more on the pinky side, Candy, Pashmina, Beauteous would all work. You can even use Breathless or Candy-O, but they'd have to be applied as light as possible, under your foundation would work best. I want a little pinky cheek but not too bright. A nice dusting of Metamorphosis over it all.

Eyes. I just love you in purples. Ok, so I love most people in purples, but you in particular! I do love StillinHollywood, but I think I suggest that all the time, so let me try something else. I've got a bunch of shades that would all work, not all exactly the same tones but I think they'd all look good. For all over your lid, Penelope, Alexandrite, Lush Memoir, or Isabella (which I think will be my favorite). For a browbone/highlight color, something a little softer like Angelique, Petit Fours, or High Heels. Both should be applied with a light touch to make them look more sheer, but still a punch of color. I think you usually apply color that way anyway, it always looks great.

Since you've got the darker hair, you have to have a darker liner, I love the Ebony on you, but you could also do something a little lighter if you thought it was a bit much for daytime. Marcasite would work well, or any medium grey shadow wetlined. Mascara should be black as well.

Lips - just a gloss is all you need, Lush would be fine. Zen and Bella would also do nicely.

I was shopping in Kohl's one day and came across a Chaps black jacket and immediately told Ian "This would be PERFECT for Laura!" He looked at me like, ok Mommy, and continued shoveling in the Cheerios. I can't find the exact jacket on their website anymore, but something close would be this:

I'd also like you in something a bit more than jeans....since all the other mommies will be wearing them, and I want you to stand out a bit. How about these Velvet Hipster Jeans from Drac in a Box?

I love the tank style top with them (granted, it may be a bit chilly for that now, so something with sleeves would be fine too).

A pair of little flat shoes to top them off - Doc Martens from Zappos.com

They don't have to be purple plaid, but definitely something out of the ordinary, a pattern or funky color. Or a more traditional Mary Jane style would work too, if you don't mind a little heel while running around, or getting sand in your shoes!

When you & hubby go out (sans children) you can easily change a few things...first darken the shadow by putting a darker purple right over the earlier one. Mireille, Colette, or Almost Midnight would all work fine, on the lid but not quite all the way to the crease, I'd like whichever color you used earlier to peek out a bit. You can put another swipe on if needed. For a highlight, add a smidge of Ophelia over whichever pink shade you used earlier, and you can even put a bit of Champagne Toast or White Wedding (something really sparkly!) just under the peak of your brow for a little extra kick.

You can also refresh your liner, now would definitely be the time for the Ebony or Black Out. A little darker on the tops, just a nice little smudged line along the bottom (outside 1/2 to 2/3 only though, not all the way to the inner duct). You could also smudge a little of the darker purple shade there as well.

A darker lip too, Gala or Fling topped with Enthrall or Lush gloss. You could even do BlankGeneration or FallingfromGrace Rocks lip with the gloss over it. Or throw caution to the wind and pull out your most va-va-va-voom sexy red, Dahlia, Vivid, or even Capri liner brushed inward, and whichever you choose topped with Bedevil. If you really want to go crazy, dab a little HotHotHot or RedShadows in the center!

For your hair, I'd love a couple of hot rollers lightly brushed out to give you big, soft, sexy waves. Dita does this so well!

I'm not sure how much of a skirt person you are, and to keep it simple we'll stick with the pants. I'd like a corset style top though, something like Lip Service's Blacklist Core Lace over Corset. (sorry, gotta click the link to see, couldn't get it to post) I think it'll go nicely with the pants.

I think it's edgy enough to make all the other ladies (and their husbands) look at you and say "WOW!" but not so far out there that you feel like you've got 12 heads.

For a shoe, something a bit higher with a more pointy toe, no round toes. A boot would work well, and you'd be able to wear them with loads of other things. Zappos has loads in various materials and prices. I'm not opposed to a thicker heel instead of a thinner spiky heel.

Put on some of your gorgeous handmade jewelry, and you're ready for a night on the town!!

I'd wake up at 3am with fantastic ideas, but when I actually sat down to make sense of it all, it didn't translate to the images in my mind.

Laura's so gorgeous she could wear a paper sack and look good though, so I'm sure she'll totally rock it!

Ok, so I did the daytime makeup look yesterday. I really liked it. Now I just need a chance to do the nighttime look.

I used Isabella on the lid and Angelique above that. I used Candy Rouge on my cheeks, and Bella lipgloss. I used an indigo eye pencil and black mascara. And I did use Metamorphosis allover my face.

And here's a smile...

And here's a pic of the jacket I got according to Cin's instructions...

The pic makes me look really washed out, but it was the only one wear you could see what the jacket looked like.

One of these days I'll get some velvet pants...Smile

You little weasel, I nearly missed this!! Make sure you do a whole new post for the nighttime look, otherwise it might go unnoticed!

Yup, that's the jacket. I can't believe you went out & bought it. On another note, when I was at Target the other day, I saw a pair of velvety pants with satiny top and thought of you!! I didn't really get a good look at them, they were in the jrs section with a little black velvet jacket. Since I own more black velvet jackets than the law allows, I was trying to steer clear of another!!

I still love the darker hair. It really makes those gorgeous eyes pop!!
