Robyn asked for a "dark, sultry, vixeny" look. I had lots of different ideas, and had a hard time deciding which way to go. Robyn's like my own little Barbie doll. She never complains about my crazy ideas and always looks fantastic. Her blonde hair does sometimes throw me off a bit, because it's such a great color. Give me unnatural and I can have a ball, give me a gorgeous color and I feel a bit guilty making her look too over the top.

She wasn't opposed to a dark gothy look, so I went with something she could definitely wear for Halloween. Besides the fact that no matter how many things I thought of, ONE idea would not leave my head. But back to that in a minute.

Robyn, let's begin!

A dusting of Metamorphosis under your usual foundation please, just to humor me. Then go ahead and apply your usual foundation shade. I do love you in SinisterRouge but for this I want very faint, just a hint of a shimmer. Ethereal, Frosting, Pixie, or Tenderkiss applied along the tops of your cheekbones only for some shimmer and the barest trace of color.

For your eyes, apply a base like Bare Necessity to keep everything in place and prevent any potential staining from darker shades.

Apply a light dusting of Fiona over your lid, up into the crease. Nothing on the browbone just yet.

You can work either from the inside or outside, whichever is easiest for you. We're going to do lightest nearest the inside gradually getting darker on the outside.

WhiteRiot applied on the inner 1/3 of your lid. You can also use WhiteWedding but I prefer WhiteRiot for it's silver sparkles instead of WhiteWedding's multicolored sparkles.

Next Adrenochrome. I tried a couple of other silver/grey colors but much preferred the finish and sparkle with Adrenochrome. This should go on the middle 1/3 of your lid, as you get closer to the outer section of this third, bring it up into the crease just a bit.

Finally BlackCelebration. You can also use BlackDiamond for this. This should go on the outer 1/3 of the lid and just up into the crease. You can also sweep a bit under your bottom lashes, but only the outer 1/3 please, and not too heavy underneath. Go as dark as you'd like on the lid, I want it to really look black.

A light dusting of WhiteRiot up along the browbone, basically covering any area where there's no shadow.

You'll have to keep applying and brushing to get it to blend so it's seamless. It should be a gradual darkening til you've gone from white to black. It also usually looks a bit odd til you're completely finished, so don't be too alarmed. Liner and lashes will make a big difference.

Liner - black, either Black Out gel or mix up some of the black shadow you used with water or indelible sealant (don't get it in your eye though!) and apply super thin at the inner duct, gradually getting thicker as you get to the outer duct. Your Coco Angelique liner application is perfect for this.

Lashes. Hmmm. Two choices - either black mascara tops and bottoms, much heavier on the tops, or a pair of false ones with a clear band. I only have Naughty Girl lashes, which have a black band. The black band would interfere with the liner, so maybe Vixen lashes would work well. Or try a pair of MO2A's beloved demi lashes, you could easily do your liner to cover the band without making it too thick.

Lips - smoking hot and red, baby. First, line with Capri liner. A little clear balm next, or even ShesaKnockout Rocks lippy all over. Then a little Phantom glam glitter along the outer 1/3 of your lip line both top and bottom, smudge inwards. A little HelterSkelter or ISeeRed all over your lips, applied with a lip brush. Finally, a bit of either HotHotHot or RedShadows glam glitter in the center of your lip, smush them together and gently rub to blend. Finally, apply a clear gloss over it all to set.

I can clearly see Robyn in a witch's hat, but with the tip slightly bent. Searched and searched for just such an outfit, and here it is!

It's a bit on the short side, but Robyn's only 5'4" - showing lots of leg will make her look super tall. (As well as cause car accidents, so don't walk around in areas with traffic.) I do like the fishnets with it. She could do a classic pump style, but she's in CA so the weather should be ok, and I think I'd prefer a more FM style. Just nothing with straps, I want your legline to just go on forever with nothing to interfere, just like the model above.

Some cute 5" heels

Or 4" slingbacks

Something along this style, again, just no straps across the front! And preferably patent leather too.

To change this into a hot date night with hubby look, just do a more muted lip (nudeish, or YLBB) go lighter with the black shadow, and no false lashes. Make sure you sit in a quiet corner of any restaurant you go to, you'll have other wives slapping their hubbies as they drool over you.

It's funny Karin mentioned Veronica Lake in an post the other day, because this was the first dress I found for you a couple of weeks ago. I imagined your hair in gorgeous soft waves, a bit over one eye, like Veronica's signature style. but I didn't want to do pinup style makeup, so I kept thinking. (I actually started to post this makeover twice but stopped, not sure which direction to take. That's why I PM'd you the other day to ask!)

This gown is also available in a gorgeous blue and red, btw, from Unique Vintage. But I'd still vote for the black.

Robyn, I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you opened the door in that outfit as your husband came home from work!

And thank you for entertaining my insanity.

I actually own a fishnet body stocking. The other parts of the outfit I'll have to work on. I do have some black shoes similar to what the model is wearing but would really love some black patent sling backs. Oh, and what's "FM" style?

ROFLMAO I was just doing the dishes and imagining the look on DH's face when I put that witchy outfit on and I realized what "FM" stood for.

now you've got me wondering.

Second word - muffin? Monkey? We used to refer to a particularly unsavory woman around town as a (blank) monkey. I'm not quite sure why monkey came into play, though.

I'm sure I'm way off base here!

edited to add that I figured it out all on my own. Had to go back and see the shoe reference, and that clinched it for me!

doh!

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

Hi everyone,

I know I haven't produced my makeover look yet but there's a reason. I didn't want to use substitutions so I ordered some new colors. I received them the day before yesterday and haven't had the opportunity to do the look yet. It's not like I can just do this sort of look in the morning and go running errands. I don't have to carpool kids to school on Thursday so I'm hoping to try it out then. I think the gradation of colors from white to black will look very nice. I so don't want to disappoint.

Just make sure you make a WHOLE NEW POST and don't sneak it in here where no one will see it!!!

There's no time limit, btw. I figured you might have to order a color or two, and then have some time to play. Can't wait to see though, it'll be much different from your usual but I know you'll make one sexy little witch!
