...Are you afraid of blue eyeshadow? Because I think you could pull it off quite nicely. Nothing like neon blue, but something nice and soft with a neutral brown or black in the crease.

You have such pretty clear eyes! You have so many choices! Peaches with deep blues, coppery browns, Tarnish, seethe.... those are just off the top of my head....

I agree, your blue eyes and copper hair make coppery, redish, orange-ish, peachy, and warm brown shadows a great first choice. You could also try some navys, forest greens, and golds. Any lippie that is warmish (no purple undertones) and has a brown base will look great on you, but I also found that bright peachy pink shades looked great on me when I hennaed my hair. Great Henna job! Not everyone can pull that color off well, but you look fabulous!

Thanks ladies! I've always shyed away from coppery colors because of the pink rosacea cheeks I have so this is all kind of scary to me. LOL

I was gonna do umber brown with entangle today. But maybe I'll look at my e/s again and go with something warmer. I'll try to snap some pics too. but I won't be able to post them until tonight when I get home. Frown

In the pics I was wearing Monique lippie. Or was in Gossamer? I can't recall - but both of them are getting more use now. Smile

Your hennaed hair is GORGEOUS!!! Smile
(And you are a lovely beauty as well!)
I too am a coppery henna girl (naturally blonde), and I definately had to change my makeup around when I became a 'red-head!'

With such vibrant hair, you might find you can pull off much stronger colors as well as yummy warm neutrals! For example- Peacock Opulent, Severina Luster, and Nico Luster--- these are all brighter/bolder colors that look amazing with the contrast of coppery hair! (At least I like them!)

Also, warm peachy/nude/buff/soft pink shades look great too- like Fox, Suede, Silk Stockings, Tea Rose, Moire, and Amelie!

Brighter and more saturated purples can work as well- at least if they have some warmth to them. Mireille, Purple Princess...Purples look great on blue and greens eyes!

I've also worn more yellows and golds and warm greens with my coppery hair and really like those as well! - Amarante, Aloe, Delicate Gold, Holy Grail, Jasper...to name a few!

Overall, I think experimenting with colors is always best- because eye color plays a big role as well as hair color. And if you feel like wearing something 'out of your comfort zone' and something that might be a little 'off' with your coloring...who cares! It's just makeup and it's supposed to be fun! It never hurts to try!

Have fun!
SmileNaomi

P.S. Also some lippies you might like: Notorious, Gossamer, Coquette, Loveonyourside, Noreservations...Like Horselover, I too fell in love with bright juicy peachy/pinks with my red hair!

Thank you ladies for the compliments. Thanx
I'm gonna have to print this thread out! You ladies are soooo helpful! THANK YOU! Like I said, this is all new to me so I appreciate all of the great suggestions and input.

Today I switched to Coco Bean and a color from another company called Aqua Pearl (they got nothing on Miss K's saturation! I really had to load it on!).
I LOVE the results! Unfortunately, my camera battery died. but I'm charging it as we speak.
I'll post some pics tonight.

You got some great suggestions! I have blue eyes, warm skintone, and while I don't have red hair I do have warm golden blonde hair Smile Warm to neutral shades are definitely easiest for me to wear, since warm colors contrast with my blue eyes (makes them pop!) and still look good with my skin and hair color Smile However, if you actually have a cool skintone, you may still be able to pull off a few cool colors even if you have warm hair! In addition to the colors already mentioned, here are a few more that I love:

Purples: Persephone and stillinhollywood are my favorites; close seconds include other reddish or pinkish purples like Mirelle and Desire. I've found that blue-purples and grey-purples just make me look like I have a black eye, but I can wear red-purples! But if you can wear cooler purples, go for it Wink

Reds/Burgundies/Red-browns: These also really make blue eyes pop and have enough warmth to look good with your hair color! Torment is my current favorite (looks great with Entangle!), others that I like include Torrid, Blaze, Burnt Roses, Velvet Dreams, Eros, Magnolia, slowburn, and Olivia (which is a red-orange-brown on me -- "coppery sunset pearl" is a perfect description!)

Peaches/Oranges: Chloe (apply with a fiber optic brush if it's too bright!), Amelie, Silk Stockings

Bronzes/Coppers/Warm Browns: I have too many favorites to list Wink A few include Flash, Ardent, Fraud, Pyro, Seethe, Spark, Aurelie, Satin Laces, Damask, Latte, Adobe, Tarnish, Suede, Coco Bean, Hazelnut

Warm/Fruity Pinks: I can't pull of cool pinks, but I do like warmer or fruity pinks, or even just brown-pinks (a favorite combo of mine is Strawberry Despair and Daphne!) Some warm pinks I like include Strawberry Despair, Cosette, Wish, and Angel Bouquet

Teals: Teals can bit a bit harder to pull off with blue eyes, but they look awesome with red hair so it's worth a shot Wink Try something like Nanette or Feather Boa for a softer teal, or I love Lucky and endlesssea for bolder teals! Some teals actually make my blue eyes look green which is fun!

Also, you don't have to give up the cooler colors -- Entangle is actually my favorite nude/beige shadow and I wear it all the time! Smile (I consider it more neutral than cool anyway!)

For cheeks/lips, try brownish shades if you have a more muted skintone, and peaches or peachy-pinks if you have a clear skintone (I love Wallflower!) Reds can also be fun -- try Notorious for a sheer everyday red Smile

Finally, check out Bridget's Redhead Types to see if one of these types applies to you! (For example, if I were to dye my hair red, my skintone would make me a definite "Peaches and Cream" redhead!)

WOW! Thanks girl_geek!! I'm not sure if I have all the colors you mentioned but I'll certainly look when I get home. (I seriously need to make an inventory sheet).
I'm quite shocked at all of the colors I can now wear!!! Coco Bean used to be way too warm for me and today it looks REALLY good! I'm definitely excited to start playing with more colors!!
Thanks for your input - I especially like how you broke everything out in color categories...LOL
And Bridget's post was very helpful. I think I'm a High Contrast, but I'll read deeper when I get a few more minutes....I didn't read English Rose yet....

Now I'm thinking of buying a Penny liner since it's on sale this week..... Mwahahaha

The henna turned out nice! And definitely, once change your hair color to red, you have to re-think your makeup.

You've received good suggestions - just try everything and see what you like best!!

Try this tool out if you would like. You can virtually try on makeup (shadow, liner, mascara, blush, lippies) in addition to changing your hair color and style. You have to register, but I have not received any spam from them. It is a fun tool!

I know I have posted any pics yet - I have taken a few with the intentions of posting them - but I've been SO busy at home and at work.

I have however been enjoying all of the different colors you ladies suggested.
So far I like Wish, Olivia & CHLOE (looks BEAUTIFUL & it's the only day I didn't get a chance to take a pic!!) for e/s.
I'm using umber and coco bean for crease.
I started using Wizard Gold as a highlight rather than my go-to Fiona.
I'm using Cherrybomb blush - and LOVING it.
Been using Amaretto, Nuance and some home made balm I threw together last week when I just want a little shine for my lips.

And I just got my sample order on Monday so I'll have more colors to rave about.

And, who knows, maybe someday I'll even post pics!! Razz
