This took a bit of arguing with myself. I can very easily see Ella all dressed up as a little fairy, a nymph in the meadow. But that thought came far too easily, and since she's given me the green light to madness, here goes. But Ella, I'd love to see you in fairy splendor.

She's got such a sweet little face, that I thought, I need to see her a bit more, well, scary. But that scary girl who's really pretty, and really not so scary deep down, young enough to try anything, not playing tough girl, not playing dress up, just living out a little fantasy. Maybe more along the lines of getting all dressed up to go to a concert. Got it?

Ella has said she's a cool girl, so I'm basing my color choices on that. Now, as always, I'm terrible with foundation, so please go ahead and use your normal foundation. Just put a light dusting of either Bleu or Lilas coquille, or perferrably Metamorphosis UNDER your foundation please. And a touch of Wildflower rouge as well, you may want to apply that under foundation, but if you apply it over, put a light dusting of foundation over it to blend it all - I just want a hint of color.

Curl your lashes. Thank you. We'll get back to them, I just hate to curl them after the shadow's on for fear it'll leave a mark or take off some shadow.

I'd love to see you with a smokey eye....so first, apply Carbon as a base, just on the lid. If you normally use a base all over your eye, use a lighter shade like Bare Necessity above the lid & up into browbone. Apply LondonDungeon all along your lid, heavy along the lashes and just ever so slightly lighter into the crease. (DQ Violet would be a good sub for the LondDung) Also apply this under your lower lashes, perhaps with a q-tip to make it a nice fat line, but smudgy. I'd like you to apply something a tad lighter and more straight purple like Purple Princess (or Desire), in the crease and just barely above the crease, blending well into the LondonDungeon. Next take a shade like Amethyst (or Alexandrite or Regal, something more sheer) and apply that above the Purple Princess, not quite all the way up to the browbone but pretty far up, heavier where it meets the Purple Princess and gradually lighter as you go up. Finally take the Amethyst, mix it with any white shade (White Wedding would be great, nice & sparkly, but any white will do, or even an off white) and lighten it so it's roughly 40-50% lighter, then apply that just under the browbone, blending well into the Amethyst. When you close your eyes, it should go from darkest at your lashline, gradually getting lighter & lighter; it'll mean lots of running the brush back & forth to blend. Whew!

I'd really like false lashes on you - since your lashes are already curled, slap those puppies on, give a minute for the glue to dry, and apply Black Out gel liner over them, it'll help to blend the "band" of the lash and you won't know what's liner & what's band. You may want to apply a little mascara to your own lashes to help them blend into the false ones. Some ladies do this first, others after applying the false ones, it's your choice.

If you don't wear them, hold off on mascara for a minute and let's finish the liner. Apply Black Out gel liner please, on the top lid applied thinly at the inside tearduct, gradually getting thicker so by the time you get to the outside it's twice as thick. With false lashes you usually end up with a line sufficient to hide the false lashes, but without you can play with the thickness. None along the bottom, if you feel you need it, put it on the outside 1/3 only.

Rub a little of the Purple Princess over the London Dungeon you put there earlier with a q-tip, making a "halo" type effect (like Kristen's Rocks! Flower look, nice and soft but still a pop of color. If you think it's too dark, use the bit you mixed up with white and blend. Then mascara, black and heavy on tops, black and a bit lighter on bottoms.

Lips - I tried a couple of combinations for this, I hope this one works for you. Take a lip brush, apply a bit of LondonDungeon just along the outer 1/2 of your lip line, both top and bottom, brush inward to soften the line. Apply Karma (or Gala or Pout) all over lips, then take Dirty Deeds (or Bad Reputation or Still in Hollywood) and apply all over the lipstick with a lipbrush. Apply clear gloss over that to set & make super shiny.

Being a dictator, I'd prefer you to use the first shades I've named, but I've listed some substitutions as well.

Now, to complete my vision, and again, being a dictator, I want you to get some big soft wavy curls in your hair. Big giant hot rollers would be great, brushed out softly. You can also use a hairpiece, that might be easier (and way more fun, you can incorporate some funky color). This is sort of how I see your hair:

I can't get a front & back pic of the model showing her hair, click on the link above & you can see it.

For an outfit, you're a petite girl, so nothing too long. I'd like something asymmetrical, like this skirt from Drac in a Box:

You can check their website for various pics of this outfit. I like the whole outfit for you, and the black & purple would match your eyeshadow. Not that you have to, it'd just look good I think!

And since you're not so tall, you can wear some killer heels, like the ones the model is wearing in the pic. I do love the "Kink" boots

photo from Snaz75 - I used to have a pair, but my foot got bigger after Ian. Drat. They do run a bit small, in case anyone plans to order them! Drac in a Box has them too, but why pay to ship them from overseas when Snaz has them. And of course they'd have to be the nice shiny patent leather (unless you're vegan).

Ella, I know it's a bit much, but I think you could pull it off and look not only sexy but adorable at the same time. Just remember it's all in good fun, so have fun!!

great makeover! i can't wait to see pics!

i love those boots, cin... (although i prefer a stiletto or semi chunky heel). too bad you can't wear them any more. i have these thigh high ones...

...but i need some knee high ones in patent/vinyl as well even though i have some regular knee high platform boots. vinyl dresses/skirts just look better with patent or vinyl boots, period!

btw, that skirt is adorable. gotta love the bow on the tooshie. Wink

Nadja, you might want to check out http://howcool.com. They sometimes have really good sales and they seem to have a style of boot for just about every kind of goth there is. Not the best website but they have a great selection and the customer service was good when I'd ordered from them in the past.

Ella, of course your Dad comes first. I hope you didn't think I was stalking you with my couple of messages (between here & your MS page), but I was so worried about you.

I'm glad things are looking up, and consider this a huge welcome back hug!

I realized you can no longer see the front of the model's hair with the old link, so here it is:

lip service link

You can see the front of her hair in the smaller pic underneath, just click on it to make it bigger.

Thanks for the updated link, Cin. I played around with the eyes today. Goofy me, I think I was a bit heavy-handed with the Carbon and londondungeon. Razz That's the fun part though is getting to play. I really love all those purples together. Purple Princess is one of my all-time faves, and the trick with mixing together Alexandrite + whitewedding makes a gorgeous highlighter shade. I might have to mix up a batch of that & keep it on hand in a baggie 'cause it would be pretty w/so many different looks.
