Hello fellow aromaleighers! (Corny Razz)

I just received some wonderful advice from Staci, Bridget, and Ella in this discussion
http://aromaleighaficionadas.i...148009936/m/57910994
So I was thinking, would other people like this type of discussion to go on for them? I know I love giving my two cents about what might look good on people Smile.

So I am proposing a new type of makeover. One for people who are trying to broaden their "color horizons" and just can't get certain colors to work. Or even if you are having trouble finding shadow pairings and/or application techniques for those pairings. I know I would love to try and help out, and I am sure others here would too. I know this type of thing has gone on in various spots in the forum, but I think we should get all these types of discussions down in one spot.

I guess the ideal thing for the person wishing the "makeover" to do would be to post clear pictures of themselves with attempts at getting that right shadow color or combination or application technique. Or pics of themselves with shadows that just look horrible Smile like I posted. And then, we could all try and figure out why a certain shadow or application technique just doesn't make you go "wow". Just a thought because I found that thread I linked to above so helpful.

And then, once advice has been given, those receiving the advice could try out the new techniques, combinations, or color variations and post those new pics. Wouldn't that be fun?

I think that is a great idea! Count me in!

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

Can I be the first person to be made over?
I want to do an orange look, as orange is my fave color! I'm getting a sample of agentorange, as the orange to be used.
I do have a limited selection of shades, so recommend a few shades if at all possible.
I have very cool toned skin, cool linen 1 mixed with some ghost. I'm defs fine doing dramatic or wild looks! Though, whatever you think is good, I'll try it. I might not be able to post pics for a while, but hopefully my camera will get fixed!

I'll be working on it Smile Good for you for trying out such a bold color! Were you the one who posted a/b sunshine PH?

Yep! The fact that that yellow looked great on me, that surprised me. So since I love orange, I wondered, what the heck, might as well try it!

Here is my idea...

Navy blue liner, agentorange outer corners, sunshine PH on the rest rest of lid in some fashion (you can bring up to the crease or not). Some sort of grey in the crease and a lighter silver/grey to highlight your brow bone. Neutral lips and cheeks, whatever are the warmest lip color and cheek colors that you have. Of course, you don't have to follow this exactly, but I hope this gives you some inspiration! I figured, Sunshine looks good on you and goes well with agentorange. Navy blue is a neutral, high contrast, and pairs well with the brightness of the other colors. Grey and silver are cool-toned in keeping with your CL coloring and go with navy blue.

Oh, I was just thinking you could use a neutral/cool brown like the ones offered in the "Satin Petals" collection instead of the silver/grey. That might go with the other colors a bit better.

I love Horselover's ideas!

Here's another consideration -

Agentorange (or any other clear orange - coralfang would be pretty, too) on lid from lashes to crease.

Slate or Pewter or another medium to deep netural to cool grey (but clear, not murky grey) at outer V and through crease.

Black or dark grey liner on upper lash line only

Sunshine at inner corners, around the tear duct

You could swap out the grey for a blue - navy or cobalt, something dark and saturated and clear, and trade Sunshine for a hot pink, too - then just go for a navy, indigo or even violet liner. Pretty!

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Neat ideas Bridget! Funny, I was thinking a/b violet liners b.c. those are nice and cool toned, but didn't think it would look right with the orange...to halloween-ey. But with the pink, I could definitely see the purple working! Yep, I think something like coralfang would also be good since it is not as warm toned as straight orange, but agentorange is the sample Staci ordered. Maybe she could mix it with some pink color that she has (even a blush?). I love your first challenge post!

Great idea horselover! I have fun trying out colors and I can usually make any color work for me in one way or another. I am sure there is a wealth of ideas out there for lots of different colors.

Bridget, I love your new picture, your hair is soooooo pretty!

Okay, while we are on the topic of orange, how would you suggest I use orange in a look, Bridget (or anybody else Smile)? Thanks! (I only own agentorange, but could mix it with pink or yellow). I am about a level 2, warm toned, but not overly so. I've got dark brown/burgundy-cherry hair right now. Green eyes, moderatly muted skintone, but not very muted, not very clear. Oh, I also own titania from the midsummers collection and Helena and brocade which are all orange-ish.

I can't wait! Thanks for the ideas. I do like horselover's idea, the brown I might be able to pat Colette lightly on, it turns out brown then. I love the picture idea!
Bridget, that seems like a good idea as well. I have Dolly blush which reads as a hot pink as an eyeshadow. And I do have a violet eyeliner, it's fun to use!
I guess it will be gray or brown, my agent orange, and sunshine. I did decide to get agent orange, I was on the fence between it and coral fang, but I thought the more challenging it will be very interesting if it turns out well, and if not, I'll try coralfang next. Or try mixing some with Dolly, as that is the pinkest shade I have. Thanks for the advice!
Hmm, Horselover, I do like the idea of pink and orange for you, I'm not sure how it would work with your hair. Maybe a little bit of a pale pink over your whole eyelid, like a matte or a very subtle shimmer, like maybe the eyeplushes? In maybe something like Persian kitten, or silk stockings, they look slightly warmer than a lot of pinks to me. Then with a little bit of an orange shade on the lid, but in the inner corner maybe a more muted orange/yellow fading into a bright orange in the crease? Just an idea, I'm not familiar with the midsummer's night collections, but brocade seems like it could be the more muted orange, maybe mixing it with some yellow or a matte.

Meh, I don't like this look too much, but we learn from our lesser mistakes, no? Next time I am going to do more of a hint of bright color, more brown. I should have shaded the inside crease, but was afraid to because of all the bright color and it looking overdone with heavy crease shading. But looking at it now, less color, and heavier crease shading might be the way to go...(This is also doubling as my first attempt at the make-over section) But in general, I really like the placement of colors, (thanks Staci!) and I just need to do the bright ones lighter and use more crease shading to be happy with it.

Marcasite in brows. Sabine to wet-line. Kiki washed over entire lid to crease. Blossom at crease and above. Helena inner half of eye over Kiki. Agentorange in crease. Sabine in V and a bit in crease. Sinisterrouge as cheek color and blankgeneration lippie.

Gorgeous! And yes, it might look better if you increased the contrast level, and slightly muted it with a darker brown. It looks great though, very springish, which is what I need from the last snow storm up here in MA.

You look fabulous! I love this on you. I have to agree, I think it would look great with a darker crease or even into the outer 'v'!

I really liked this look! I am double posting this b.c. the bronze looks kinda orangey on me. So the colors are more subdued and the crease is darker. I could have made the crease or the lid more orangey, but I like it this way for every day wear.

Nude frost all over
magnetism to thickly line upper lash line and lightly in brows
hibiscus wet over magnetite and a bit upwards from upper lash line
masshysteria glitter also to line lightly
a dab of agentorange in the outer corners which disappeared somewhere in the blending process TeeHeeHee
bronze PH in crease
Umber in the outer v and blended into crease
more bronze PH to blend out crease (learned that from you guys!)
Brocade PH to highlight brow and lightly over crease
black/brown mascara
light application of Sundaygirl/cherrybomb/breathless rocks! rouge mix
amarretto plus brown gloss with a bit of delicate copper PH mixed in

OMG a photo of the right side of my face! TeeHeeHee
