I should be posting more often, since I am still totally addicted to AL and I read the board daily.. =)

Anyway, I love seeing all the FOTDs and wish I'd have the time and talent to try some of those incredible looks. However, these days I am pretty busy in the morning: a puppy and an adult dog that are now fighting for my attention AND taking most of my time. I still need to have a cup of coffee and something to eat before running to work.

My make-up for the day (workday) is usually just Voile 1YL, black out gel liner (if I have a few minutes, I tightline my upper lids, since it looks so good!) or marcasite gel liner if no tightlining. Then I do try to wear a shadow, but just one shade.

My current favorites are Wonder (OMG, I adore this one!), Psyche and Entangle, thought I have a bunch of others too, and they all look great.

I also love Wonderland and Teddy Wisp from the Gothic Lolita collection, and my older favorites are Basil, Circe, Edie, Sophie, Arielle and Suede.

I do not know what people think of a Starbucks/Target employee wearing this nice, fancy metallic/shimmering make-up, but I love it, and I am so happy to have found AL! =)

Happy Memorial day!

=== Blonde, then brunette, now a very blond blonde again!. Greenish-grey eyes. 1 and/or 2YL. Current favorites: Elemental Lustres, Opulent Lustres! Especially Azalea, Ginger, Bamboo, Entangle, Alloy and Astonish! And then some.. ===

I know that most Starbucks employees are really working towards other goals -- usually artistic... and I understand the desire to stand out while wearing a boring uniform. Metallic shadows in neutral colors should be fine.

But then, I'm a pretty lenient supervisor at my job...

Hi Mint, always good to hear from you Smile I for one think I would be cheered up if my barista had colorful, sparkly metallic makeup when she served my morning coffee. I like checking out good makeup, and it's always better to see people expressing themselves than wearing boring colors just to be safe.

Coloring: 1.5 level skin with yellow undertones, hazel eyes, medium golden/reddish brown hair color. Surprisingly, I look best in neutral and cool-toned makeup. Love greys and pinks. Current Favorites: Magnetism gel liner, Rocks! Rouge in Breathless, Pinafore Color Cream, Adelaide EDT, Delicate Vanilla Bean Lipbalm, Ondberry and Maylily Spring Solstice!

I have had to be a little quicker in the morning too lately. So I usually go for a quick 1 wash eye color, liner and mascara.
My favorite go to shadows:
Guilt(wore it today with Penny liner) Fox, Sophie, Edie, Amelie, Fanclub (worn dry with no base), and Allure.

My go-to "I'm in such a hurry I only have time for one color" shadow is Circe. It's probably my favorite AL brown/neutral shade, and it goes with just about everything. A quick wash all over the lid with the flat shader and I'm good to go. I am definitely coveting one of the Fiber Optic e/s brushes for this purpose, too. Come on, IRS, where's my economic stimulus check? Wink

I have a little kabuki brush for eyes, I love using this to sweep over the lids. I use Circe, Fox, Brownsugar,Le Mystere #12 to name a few. I then like to use a colorful liner. It's my quick and easy, but still noticed look.

Oh yeah, Flash and Entangle too.

I tried Circe today as a full lid with a bit of apricot frost eye cream as my brow highlight -- and it looked great! Very fast and out the door!

My favorite one-color shadows like this are Entangle (the perfect neutral, not too warm, not too cool, goes with anything!) and Adobe (my favorite warm neutral). Other good colors for me include:

Damask
Fox
Sophie
Suede
Wish
Spark
Angel Bouquet
Angelique

(Circe is pretty but is a bit too cool to be really flattering on me!)

I normally still wear an eyeliner with these colors -- usually a gel liner since that's much faster than wetlining! Penny goes well with Adobe; and practically any color looks great with Entangle (my favorites are Chocolate Mousse, Tanzanite, and Scuba Dive).

I also usually use the Ultra-Posh FO brush to swipe a sheer layer nude (or almost nude) color from crease to brow just to even out the look and make sure all my eyeshadow primer is covered up Wink The best almost-nude-for-me shadows for this are Allure Perle (neutral), Marigold and Daphne (for warmer looks), Fiona and Maiden (for cooler looks). If I use the Nude Frost cream eyeshadow as a primer I can skip this step; unfortunately I haven't been using the cream shadows much since they *barely* last through a workday for me and defintely crease in the evening. Frown (Likewise, Apricot Frost is a gorgeous lid for me, I think it's similar to Adobe, but it just doesn't last as long as I'd like on my super-oily skin!)

Wow! The cream shadows work better for me than the AL primer! Just goes to show how individual things are. Thank goodness for choices!!!

I LOVE the Apricot frost. It's so pretty. I might do just Apricot today... day off, feeling lazy...

Actually I will admit that I use a non-AL primer Red Face I haven't tried the AL primer because I'm doubtful that a creamy product would work on oily lids, and you can't order a sample of it first.... I am happy with my other brand so I've stuck with it! (Though I've converted almost all of my other mu to AL Wink)
