I ordered samples of Lava and Sass hoping to find a cool red color I'd like. Sass was pretty close to what I was looking for, but Lava was too orange for me. So I tried combining it with other glosses.

WOW, what a surprise!!! Lava topped with Dare is really pretty. I got something in the pink-berry family. I'm not good at describing colors, but it's brighter than YUM which hardly showed up on me. Try Lava topped with Dare if you like kind of bright pink/berry colors.

This was just the color I was looking for even though I don't really care for Lava alone or Dare alone. I actually ordered the Dare hoping it would adjust the lava and sass.

That sounds really pretty, Tamara!

What is Dare like on her own? The picture of it always intrigues me - it' looks so pretty and purpley and frosty on my monitor!

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

I have to say I've alway thought Dare looked very pretty, but never ordered it. I was thinking I'd get one of the 'gems' kits w/it in it. I think these are the kits I'm thinking of. Anyway, now I have even more reason to try it!!!

~Thanks!

Bridget,

Dare is VERY light. It's light like the intensity of the Buzz swatch but it's a light violet color rather than pinkish color. It's just as frosty as Buzz too. I really don't care for it alone. For what's worth, my husband said it's "nacarado" which means mother of pearl.

I have no clue why it shows up as a medium purple color on my screen. Actually I just have a sample jar, but I'm willing to bet that Dare is the violet colored full-size tube pictured on the gloss page. However, when I put it on it is only about 1/2 that dark.

Actually, it's very similar to Buzz except it is light violet instead of light pink!

For me it is great for tweaking. I like it on top of lava, sass, and noir.

I have Dare and really like it. Tamarak's description is pretty on. Like Buzz, but on the violet side instead of pink. I like wearing it when I wear similar coolish colors everywhere else. On me, I think it looks better when it's lightly applied and with a lipliner to give it definition.

2/3Y glissade/voile on oily skin; likes both warm and cool tones; AL makeup is the best! 43 y/o

Well, on the lipgloss sale, I just ordered up my very own Noir and Dare.

Dare will probably go to Bri, but I'll get to play with it first! I can see Noir being my everywhere gloss, though!
