Hello, old friends and new ones! (Note: By "old" friends, I mean "friends I've known for awhile" rather than making reference to your, um, age...)

I thought I'd share my latest favorite makeup combo that I wore for much of the month of September as Sister Margaretta in Sound of Music. Sorry it's not a great photo, but hopefully it'll give you an idea!

Here are the details:

Foundation: a 50-50 blend of 3N and 4N Pure Cover

Blush: my own blend of 2 parts Pink Blush, 1 part Lily Rouge, 1 part Praline Rouge

Contour in hollows of cheeks and temples: Chambord Rouge

Eyes: Catteleya Matte ES on lids, Bouganvillea Matte ES in crease, Fawn Matte ES under brow. Eyes lined with a brown pencil, lashes decked out in Maybelline's Full & Soft mascara in Very Black

Lips: Sorry, I don't know what this one is, as the label is now illegible, but it is an AL lipstick! It's kind of a brick/wine color.



I didn't get that blasted shine you get with pancake makeup and best of all, my skin didn't break out!!

LOL! I just tried convincing my husband that we even had nuns wearing Aromaleigh !
He didn't believe me...

WOW!! Rubystar, didn't know Pure Cover could look so pretty in photos....of course, you have beautiful skin to go with it!

Lovely! Here's a non-makeup story...

Re nuns in makeup, though: I'm an actor, and was called for work as an extra on a film that's shooting locally. The cast of extras included two nuns (one was me). Full metal habit, as it were; real ones. Including nun-like shoes with a small heel. All the nuns I knew from childhood wore them. And note: even for camera, NO makeup.

At one point, between takes, I was returning from the ladies room. I held my habit up a few inches to keep from stepping on it. A pair of women approached me, peering curiously. I couldn't help asking, "Can I help you, ladies?" The older one, British, said, 'You can't be real!" "Excuse me?" I said. "You can't be real. Nuns don't wear high heels". "Actually yes, we do, Ma'am," I replied. She looked stunned. "But they don't wear lipstick, you're wearing lipstick!" she said. "But Ma'am, I'm not wearing lipstick,". She now looked almost afraid. Finally I said, "But you're right, I'm not real,". "Told you so!" she said to her friend, and left.

Amusing day...

Celeste, what a funny story!! Gee, you sure sound "real" to me! LOL There was actually a nun convention at the convention center our theatre is in, right during the run of Sound of Music! We kept threatening to crash the conference. Heh, heh!
