I ordered a sample a while back, and pretty much though that Balsam would be too dark to use as an eyeshadow (yes, this was a WHILE back!). I dag it out this morning, since I am in the middle of experimenting and making a HUGE wishlist.. Wow! It is yet another very surprising color!

I used my sample of Nymph on the lid. The picture on the MSD page makes it look like a violet shade, but it is more of a pink-heatherish tone. Something a cross between Maiden and Blossom photos (at least on my monitor). When I put it on my lids, I do see the purplish flecks and a very subtle blue sheen.. Beautiful, yet very subtle!

The Balsam: The description says it is a a cool muted brown with grey tones. That's what it looked like when I put it on the outer corners and in the crease. Then I started lining my eyes with it, and the liner brush was a bit moist. What a surprise! It turned Golden! Or maybe golden-copperish, with a hint of green-gold. I can't even describe it! Wow, I gotta get a full size now (What a surprise!!)

I took a few photos, unfortunaterly they didn't capture this combo too well.

Allright Mint Dearest. I Want your eyes !!
Balsam.. a real favorite . I have used it as a wetliner too. Gorgeous . I also have applied it wet to my lids a few times. Equally lovely.
Earten Sage is another one I like wet lined or just straight on lids sometimes.. And Circe.. oh is that gorgeous. Oh heck I like way too many of the colors in all the eye shadow lines !

62 yr old, light complected, rosacea -sensitive skin, fading auburn hair, hazel eyed, lightly freckled,

Thanks Jane =) I've always wanted brown or hazel eyes, but AL has made me feel prettier and a lot better about my eyecolor!

And it is so much fun discovering new colors and just trying about everything. And I see a big order on my way this week, since both Carolina Summer and Satin Petals are on sale!

Your eyes are beautiful and you do such a great job photographing them. They are a very unusual color.
Blue gray with a hint of gold in them....

Have you tried the marcasite gel eye liner? Or is that one you can't wear. I think that would look amazing on you for some reason.....
Or the one called magnestism or tidal wave !!
I don't remember which have the blue in it you said you were sensitive to..

It was one I thought would look great on my friend Kirsten too. If you see this K, look at those...

Thank you ladies =)

Lisa, luckily I can wear blue if it isn't D&C Blue1, and the gel eyeliners don't list that as an ingredient, only a few of the Rocks! shades do. In addition to the black gel liner, I have Tidal Wave, Tanzanite and Ivy League. All are great colors! I have been thinking of getting Marcasite and/or Magnetism. And I probably will, but this month I ordered way too many other things =)

I took some pictures of Tidal Wave and Tanzanite, I think these are the threads:
Tidal Wave

Tanzanite

Mint, that is so interesting, thank you! I LOVE the tidal wave on you!! It is just perfect for you. The Tanzanite also beautiful. I was mixing that up with marcasite. .Now that I have seen it, I think I could definitely wear it. I want that one now!

I am still amazed at your photos and I have a similar camera. I think I just need to practice more.

Thanks so much..

You are both welcome, and thank you =) I am very happy with the gel liners, and like I said, I am itching to get at least a few more shades. Tho knowing me.. eventually I'll end up with ALL of them. It just might take a LONG time =)
