I've been experimenting with fake lashes for about a week now and I canNOT get them to work right. They always start lifting up, or my eyes start watering. I have watched some tutorials on the Internet and tried the tips I got, but no dice yet. In my defiance, I just drew on some extra lashes with my eyeliner today.

In fact, I'd say the whole theme of today's makeup is exaggeration. I have my cartoon lashes, dark purply blush, dark purply lips, but my eyes are being the sensible ones, sporting classy neutrals from En Pointe.

Here's what I've got on:
Sylph under my brows and in inner third of eyelids including corners.
Calliope on outer two thirds of eyelids.
Odile in outer two thirds of crease and smudged along lower line.

Sinisterrouge blush applied fearlessly and dark.
Blankgeneration lip.

HiP Gel liner in black on upper lids, and then used to draw fake lashes all around the outer edges of my eyes.
Black mascara.
Urban Decay's primer potion.

(I'm not this orange in real life... just something up with this photo.)

After I took these photos, I decided to switch my lipgloss for something darker. I used:
HiP Gloss in Ingenue which is an older color they don't make anymore, but it's awesome. It's even darker in real life than in the photo - same with Blankgeneration, actually.

I'm really stunned with how much I love these neutrals on my eyes. The sparkle is enough to entertain the color diva in me, but the effect is so tasteful. I can't believe how much Sylph stands out from the variety of whites I've used in the past. It's so frosty, and the cool colored sparkles are just my thing.

Not just Sylph, but also Calliope and Odile are blowing me away. They blended together so much better than I assumed they would, and I really, really like the way they look on me!

Needless to say, I am in love with En Pointe already. I'm usually more drawn to bright colors and ridiculous amounts of sparkles, but this classy set may be the best thing that's happened to me in awhile.

I'm also thinking Sinisterrouge is incredible. I intentionally wore it dark (it was more bold than in the pictures), but I like the "HEY! I'm wearing blush, and it looks good" feeling I got all day. I have high hopes that it'll be as good when applied subtly.

Thanks for looking!

This looks great! I love the drawn-in lashes and neutral lids.

En Pointe is a favorite of mine. Ahhh! And you wear it well.

I like the lashes!
I also love En Pointe Smile

Here's what I've been doing with lashes, since I've not been wearing them very long. I take an angled eyeliner brush and I apply lash glue on it and run it along my lash line, then I apply a bit more to the lashes themselves. Then I press them as close to my lash line as I can get, using the back of the brush to help press them in place.

Great look!

Lashes take a little playing with. You may need to trim them, sometimes they're too long (not the length of the lash, but the band itself) to fit properly on your eye, which can cause them to not sit properly.

Glue - too much is bad, as is too little. I dab the glue on, count to 5, then apply. Too much, especially if it's "wet" makes them slide around (easier to get in place, but you've then got to hold them longer til it dries), too little means they won't stick as well. Keep on experimenting and you'll figure out exactly what works for you.

Keep a spare tube of glue in your purse for emergencies too!

I absolutely love the whole look! It's neutral, clean and classic!

En Pointe is probably my favorite collection for it's versatility.

Thanks for all your feedback on the look, and thanks for the tips on lashes!

I'm not giving up on false lashes yet. I think one of my biggest problems this last week is that I had fake nails stuck on from Halloween that I couldn't get off, and I was clumsy in them.

They're finally off, so I'll try again soon, and the suggestions and tips you mentioned sound like they're what I was missing. ^_^

I'll let you know how it goes, but if I can't do strips I may have to start myself off on those ones where you just put a couple on here and there.

Very nice.. I like the neutrals with the flash of white in the inner corner of your eyes.. and the sparkles that you were able to capture in the pics is awesome! Gives an extra ethereal-ness to them...
