I would love to be able to use your (Jane's) recipe using the coquilles, but I am allergic to the chromium ingredient in them. Does anyone know of a substitute formula that would give the same result, but without using the coquilles? I am new to mineral makeup (just ordered my samples), and am excited about getting started with them.

Ok.. not to worry .. check out the eye shadows. I never really read ingredient info on AL products so not sure if any of them have chromium in them..
I'd go for ones such as Marigold,Amalie,Sage or even Brianna maybe(gives the green and yellow touch), Oyster(in place of marigold maybe), for a pink glo I;d check out Wish, ... and so on..

just mix small amounts with the Illuminator .
I'd bet that would work. One can mix a blush or Perle Powder in too..

If you like a matte look, just use the matte shadows instead of frost. I steer clear of the high shimmer/glimmer/gloss or flecks of gold silver etc myself..

Illusion Perle, Splendor Perle, Halo or Vision
Mirage, Afterglow,In Bloom, Scintillate

just pick maybe 2 Perles and maybe 2 shadows to work with .. according to your own skintone etc..
PS: one other thought.. you could actually mix some Voile in the Illuminator too. Yellow ,Neutral , Pink (or a blush you prefer), tiny bit of Linen.. along with the shadows in a green , & blue shade or Perle powders. And if you have not mixed a batch of illuminator/coquille finishing powder up yet, just don;t faint when you see the end result. It will be a grayish color.. but on skin it is different.. recently I added some Illusion Perle in my mix and love it..

Thank you, thank you. I can tell right now that I am going to have lots of fun playing with this makeup. It reminds me of when I was a little girl and got into my mom's makeup, except even more fun.

Thanks again,
Mary
