Hi, I'm new to Aromaleigh, I just ordered some samples after reading some amazing reviews and I got a sonic lips sample (blankgeneration) by surprise...

It's a lovely color, but I am gluten-intolerant and noticed tocopherol (which frequently comes from gluten-containing things) in the ingredients list. Can anyone tell me if Aromaleigh lip products are gluten-free?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Neon, I'm honestly not sure if they're gluten free. Maybe try emailing customer service?

The tocopherol is natural source, not synthesized- if this helps. There is no data from manufacturer about the source of mixed tocopherols. They derive it from several different sources.

Sorry there is no exact info, but when sourcing vit E it's 2 options- natural source or not. I would assume that it is the natural source you want to avoid, although if I were you I would do further research about tocopherols actually containing gluten.

HTH!

Thanks! Actually, you're right, I think I do need to do a bit of research. I just looked at the ingredients on my current lip balm (Burt's Bees) and it contains tocopherol...so far I've been using it for 3 months with no reactions, I'm starting to wonder about this tocopherol thing.

Hmm, isn't vitamin E normally only found in oils? Not sure how severe your gluten allergy is, but if it's anything like Olive oil and such, it should have a VERY small amount of the protein that is gluten in the base that the vitamin e is extracted from in the first place?

Yes, vitamin E is normally found in oils. However, I have Celiac and can get sick from any amount over 20ppm, which is a very small amount. Even a tiny amount can make me pretty sick, for instance a rogue crumb or an open mouthed kiss from my fiance after he's eaten a sandwich. Wink

Ah! I wasn't sure how severe your case was(I have a friend with that, and he can only eat regular bread once a month or less, which is not as severe as yours.). In that case, I think it's a good idea to take precautions like that.
