I love the texture of glissade and how it applies to my skin, but I've gotten some odd bumps on my forehead from it I think. My forehead is also very very red(even for me!) and seems a little bit tender. It's not acne, but it feels a bit odd, and is just bumpy! My forehead produces more oil than the rest of my face, even though that amount is very very very minor. I'm wondering what might be causing this, and if there's anything that could treat this that people have tried(Paraben free esssential, but all natural prefered(to minimize senstivities)). I put some tea tree oil on it, and it helped a little. It's mostly in the center of my forehead, and the tea tree oil got rid of it by my hairline but didn't help between my eyes terribly much. A mud mask helped a little bit as well, but it made my forehead very very very dry and peel by the edges, though that's fine now. I love glissade, but I'm wondering if I should go back to voile, which didn't cause this issue. My glissade is a mix of glissade and voile, in case anyone is wondering. (Glissade cool linen 1 is too dark, so I lighten it with a bit of ghost voile, more than I use with my voile cool linen.) It feels almost like acne, but it's all dry and just slightly tender, which I've gotten acne so rarely, I'm not sure. I haven't switched my Anyone else had this issue? Is there a difference between a soap with SLS and without it in removing silicone from the skin, since I know you need soap to remove silicone primers, and a shampoo to remove it from the hair. My current face wash does not have it in it, but I have a old shampoo that dried out my hair with it, but would that be worth a try?

It sounds like clogged pores to me, which is a reaction some people do have to silicones. I would not put tea tree oil on it. Undiluted tea tree oil could definitely be causing the redness/soreness, and it won't do anything to unclog pores because it has some antiseptic properties, but it isn't an exfoliant. The only all-natural exfoliant I can think of is apple cider vinegar (I have heard this is like AHA?). Are you ok with using BHA though? That would probably help the most, aside from switching back to Voile. I wouldn't try the shampoo for mu removal either since it dried out your hair, it will probably strip your skin too! My favorite thing for makeup removal is an oil-based precleanse. Grapeseed oil, safflower oil, and rice bran oil are some non-clogging ones. Some people like jojoba too. I massage in a nickle-sized amount to dissolve mu, then follow with my regular cleanser and a warm washcloth. Good luck resolving this issue! Could be that incomplete mu removal at night is causing the issue, if you feel like your cleanser isn't removing the silicone completely.

Thanks Green3! It was very red and sore before I tried the tea tree oil, which seemed to help, but I'm not sure, it still feels bumpy. I tend to use it on a occasional basis on my skin when I get a lot of cracks from the dry weather to prevent infection, but I have very very dry skin, which is why I tried the glissade. I might just get a good facial moisterizer to put on or mix with the voile. The voile wasn't very drying, but it was just a teensy bit. Well, I'm not sure what a natural brand of BHA is(Any suggestions of Paraben free brands of facial products containing them, with as short an ingredient list/most natural list as possible?), but I'll try the apple cider! I have used that on my skin the few times I've had acne with some success, but I'm not sure if it was due to the apple cider or other products I was using. I felt like the cleanser I'm currently using got all of it off, but I've heard that you need to use a soap not just water and oil to remove silicones(And my cleanser is mostly oil based, Burt's Bees Orange cleanser, or the Lemon Poppy Seed one, more often the later.), so I wasn't sure if what was meant by soap was an SLS soap, or just something slightly stronger than water. I love using olive oil to remove my eyemakeup in particular, and tend to use it a lot along with coconut oil, but I'll try jojoba, when I last tried it, it didn't add enough oil to my skin and sank in to my hands too fast for me to apply a small amount to my face. I tend to be very careful with my makeup removal, as my skin gets redish and irritated if I leave even AL(in one application) on for more than 12 or so hours. I have extremely dry skin though, and it's gotten slightly better, so I might try jojoba again. I'm not normally prone to clogged pores, so this suprised me, but I'll try the apple cider vinagar and if it doesn't work, I'll switch back to the voile, and only use glissade occasionally! Thanks again!

The fact that it's near your hairline is a key. Could be a hair product you have been using.... or even something on your fingers that got transferred to your forehead. Glissade doesn't agree with my skin, but if I mix it with Voile it's fine. Don't ask me why, cuz I dunno..... just one of those oddball things we all have.

Pinky, I thought that at first, as well, but it was more in the center of my forehead and between my eyebrows. So I looked at what hair products I've been using, and I've been using the exact same ones, that I've used for quite a while now(Burts Bees, with some oil(coconut or olive for frizz). I've combed my eyebrows a little bit more over the last few weeks or so, but that shouldn't have any effect! I have been using lemon essential oil as a purfume, but that's not on my forehead, or even near it! I then also switched sunscreens a few months ago, but I doubt it's related to that. I was mixing it with voile for the color, so it's quite possible that could be it. Thanks!
I tried the apple cider trick, it honestly just really dried out my forehead, but I'm using voile again, and it seems to be going away, abit slowly, and I have an odd boil thing, but it's going away. I think the apple cider trick might work better if a person has any amount of natural oils. Glissade I'll save for special occasions I think.
Thanks for the advice, I'm just glad it's starting to clear up! And I must say, voile covered it amazingly for classes today! I suppose it's great to be able to narrow it down to just the silicones, with AL, as opposed to not having an idea of what it is as in most mainstream cosmetics. Most products at AL are quite agreeable with my skin, I have to say that!
