Hi - I have a question about Voile - I absolutely love the finish of this foundation - it's one of my HG's! I was just wondering if the ingredients are micronized? Or just finely milled? I did a search and nothing came up and on the foundation page it just says finely milled.

Anyway - thanks so much! After sampling and sampling, I always come back to Voile - it's top notch, that's for sure.

Hi, Beth! I knew Kristen had talked about this concern before, and I just found her old post on the subject. I'm just going to paste that information in here for you and anyone else who's concernd about micronized and/or nanoparticle-sized ingredients.

FROM KRISTEN'S PRIOR POST:

Hi- micronized is really commonly mis-used to describe minerals. Micronized particles are SO tiny and fine that they wouldn't (in my opinion) work well as mineral makeup due to wearability issues, and there are safety issues involved as well, due to the greater potential for inhalation of such tiny particles. An example of where micronized minerals (in particular zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) are used is in transparent lotion sunscreen formulas. The micronized minerals are SO fine that no whitish cast is left on your skin. And they are in a cream or lotion base, so you aren't inhaling it.

So the answer would be No, we don't use micronized minerals. I don't give out specific types or micron sizes of the pigments that I do use, as that is proprietary information. I use finely milled cosmetic grade pigments that are specifically produced for cosmetic purposes.

Thanks so much for posting this information. I'm so glad! That totally answers my question. I do worry about the issue and try to use companies that do not use the dangerous stuff.

Thanks again! This makes me very happy!
