Here lately, the moment I apply my Glissade, my skin gets beyond angry. Burning and irritated. I used it with no problem up until now, and have never had particularly sensitive skin.

Does anyone know if any of the ingredients in Glissade are potentially the culprit? I can't find any other culprit; nothing has changed in my routine, and it happens immediately upon application of the makeup. I even switched to a fresh sponge every application, hoping that was it. Nada.

Depression. I love my Glissade.

Oh no! You are doing everything right. Using a sponge, no other changes...

When you say "lately", how long did you get to use it when you had NO irritation?

I had the same thing happen with Glissade. Try Voile -- I switched, and I've had absolutely no reaction.

HTH!

Thanks for the replies, ladies. I used the Glissade without problems for almost three weeks. Though I have heard that allergies can develop at any time, so maybe I just became sensitive to it. I suppose it must be the preservative, everything else is pretty much inert as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the suggestion, Nicole. I will have to try Voile again. The first time I tried it, it didn't work well. My skin is so dry and persnickity that the Voile kind of sat on top looking chalky and accentuating lines. Maybe I'll try using a light coat of jojoba oil instead of my regular moisturizer.

Wah! Glissade is the best foundation I have ever used.

Sorry to hear that, Snarkylyn. Boo Hoo Hoo
Glissade made life easier for you, but truly, Voile can work too. I had the same trouble with dry skin.

If you haven't tried it already:
Plain Baking Soda scrub in the shower at night (not right before applying makeup) Works wonders. Better than an apricot type scrub.

Replace sugar with top of the crop organic veggies. Like cucumbers that smell so good you wanna cry. Use Extra Virgin Olive Oil in your salads and cooking. Gives you essential oils from the inside.

(Your body processing sugar/soda/coffee/carbs SUCKS THE WATER right outta you & leaves your skin to be a dried out husk. ) You'll see results fast and more dewey delicate eye skin.

Fill a super large cup or 20oz Mason jar with yummy herbal tea bags or plain filtered water - or squeeze a slice of lemon in water. Place next to your work area. Easy to sip 60 oz of water each day if you don't have to refill very often, like you do with an 8oz glass.

Keep up with the jojoba oil... - Hope this helps! - Christina

Snarkylyn, I'm sorry the Glissade isn't working for you any longer. Some people are more sensitive to parabens than others, so it's possible that is what is causing your problem. If so, you will probably experience something similar with any item you use on your face that contains parabens. If you are able to use other items containing parabens, that is probably not the cause of the problem.

While the silicone ingredients in Glissade enable many people with sensitive skin to finally be able to use minerals, there is another small group that can have a sensitivity to the silicones, so that could also be a possible cause of the problem.

As others have suggested, trying Voile is a good idea since it contains neither the paraben preservatives nor the silicone products.

Have you ever had problems wearing sunscreen products in the past? If so, the problem could be related to the zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. It's not always easy trying to figure out which particular ingredient an individual may have a unique reaction to. Hopefully, you'll be able to narrow it down and find an alternative that will work for you.
