To the forum member whose post I just deleted...

You may feel free to rewrite your post in a constructive manner. You may want to read our forum's guidelines.

This is a pleasant forum- we are a constructive and fair group. It's perfectly fine if you don't like a product, but I am sure that you can find a way to express this without using phrases such as "I hate this so much!" "this is a rip off" and "I've thrown my money away".

Not every product works for everyone... but ask nicely and the wonderful group of ladies here may just give you some helpful advice to make the product work for you.

Temper tantrums are rarely responded to here.

I just wanted to let you know why your post disappeared lest I be accused of being a censor.

If we all play nice, then I don't have to delete posts! Smile

I rarely have to delete posts, however as this is a really great forum.

Thanks ladies!

Kristen

This is true. I know I've ordered stuff that didn't work for me, I've read that some others don't care for stuff I swear by and some things I thought would never work have become favorites! You just never know. We're all different in so many ways. The cream concealer comes to mind - I've never, ever found a concealer I didn't just hate. After reading raves about it I got a sample and now I use it every day. But it doesn't work for some people.

This forum contains such a wealth of experience. Don't ever hesitate to post with questions. Chances are you'll learn something you never thought of. Kristen's right - we are a nice bunch of ladies and we treat each other with respect always. There is a sisterhood here and we value each other greatly.

Good lookin' out, Miss K.

Well, Ladies, I have, over the years, developed a new "makeup philosophy." (This'll be good)

I used to buy stuff and get really irritated if it didn't work, and just throw it away or keep it and be forever mad about it. But the past couple of years, in working with AL, which is a little easier to be creative with, I discovered that there really isn't a bad color, a bad lipstick, or anything bad. Because I can do "something" with it to make it work. For example, if I buy a lipstick that isn't all that good of a color for me, I find a lipliner to match it with that makes it look better on me. If I have a blush that's too pale, I darken it with another color. If I have a blue that's too dark, I can apply it more delicately or apply something like "allure" or "kinetic" under it to modify how it appears on me. So somehow I have managed to stop the throwing away and now salvage virtually everything to use or modify in some way, shape or form.

Making lemonade out of lemons!

Sure hope our girlie girl comes back. We won't bite.

Yep. I learned to hang on to the things I thought I did not like or would not use. I love playing mixologist ! so much fun.. and I have come up with some great goodies I could never reproduce again too. Love those one of a kind hits.
And the ladies here have such great ideas and tips. Such a nice place to come to and ''talk and exchange ideas".

I think of makeup much like buying undies.. once worn undies cannot be taken back (or I sure would not unless defective maybe).. It is Personal..

Like Kristen said, not every product works for everyone. Since everyone's skin is different, results can vary from person to person. I agree, the ladies here are wonderfully helpful, and if you feel you're not getting the best results out of a particular product, ask away!

So true, sometimes I have experimented with things during the week that I should have waited until the weekend for, (blue coquille!)but the lovely ladies of this site are SUPER knowledgeable and can really give you tips on everything under the sun, very positive and lots of support, so if at first you don't succeed, try, try again! And then another time! Some things that other people use as a finishing product may be a good base product, and so on. We are very positive here, try not to let one bad experience sour you, Aromaleigh is fabulous as are the Aficionadas.--Tanya

I was really frustrated with some of my early attempts with mmu (but determined!). The wonderful gals here have got me on my way to being a newfound makeup diva.

Mineral makeup is completely different from traditional makeup in terms of application so it does take some relearning. Once you get the basics down though, it's *so* much better. I would never go back to my old makeup brand or even liquid foundation again.

p.s. Thanks Miss K for preserving our makeup zen environment. I know it's a tough call but it is appreciated.

Tanya - blue coquille! I got a free sample, tried it on my face and thought yuck! For some reason I was inspired to use it on my eyes as a base color and love it! There's an old pic of me wearing blue coquille and Tide Matte called Bleu Tide in FOTD. It's one of my fave looks. It really does make a lovely eye highlight!

Oh, Lin! That's a great idea! Boy, my coworkers got a good laugh that day, I had decided to experiment with the blue, and I looked just like Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas! I panicked, and finally figured some pink would cancel out the blue, mixed up some pink mineral with some neutral finishing powder and it worked! But what a story to tell. All my friends said it would have been a neat look, but I said maybe I can go to the club looking like a 3 day old corpse, but not to work! LOL!--Tanya

I find a use for everything.
For example, some of the colors I find are too dark for me to use as eyeshadows, but they make great eyeliners!
