Well, I wish it was rest and a vacation... Frown

The kids have no school that week and I'm already totally demolished from the last few months of new products and orders. I'm so fried I literally can barely keep my eyes open during the day and I'm walking into walls and tripping over things. I can't focus on anything and I'm a ball of stress.

I can barely eek out my daily blogs right now, much less even think about the new eyeshadows I know that everyone will soon be checking in on me for, since I did at one point say that new colors would come out in April.

So, I'm going to have to stop taking orders for a week and try to catch up on other things. If I happen to get to bed early a few nights that would be a plus. But I'll still be working every day, trying to catch up. I just won't be watching my head spin by as quickly because I won't have to worry about orders getting out.

I really am totally fried, to the point of tears. The schedule I've kept and the new product developments I've made have just reduced me to a shadow. Frown

Kristen,

I hope you have some fun with your boys that week while they're out of school. Please do not put your health at risk by letting us hold you to the April deadline for new shadows if that is not a feasible timeline. Your health and sanity are way more important then whether we get new shadows next month or the month after next! You have given us ample warning about this closing and we have plenty of time to stock up, so thanks! =)

-Jessica

Ditto to what Jessica just said, Kristen!

If you must work to catch up, just pace yourself. Get some naps in during the week, or call it quits for the day earlier or get to bed earlier OR do all three.

Please take care of yourself!

Loida Smile

Yes, please take care of yourself. My dear friend always tells me the work will still be there. I mean we do have like 400 or so eye shadows to keep us happy in the mean time.

Age 53, I use 2WL voile, porcelaine, tarnish pure hue for eyebrows and eyeliner. My hair is auburn (Henna), eyes brown, skin fair. oily T zone.

So true! I have samples that I haven't even tried yet! So I don't mind the wait for new e/s colors either.
Kristen,
I hope you have a nice time off to get caught up, to gain your sanity and to do something fun with your family.

Melissa Smile

Please, take a rest! I have dozens of colors that I barely wear and I just got more samples of others I never tried before. I don't think any of us will suffer from "lack-of-colors-to-try" withdrawl if you don't make your self-proclaimed April deadline on new shadows. Take care of you! Clap

Do take time for yourself, time to do nothing is perfectly okay too. If you don't rest, you will not be feeling refreshed even if you get all caught up. I hope you get in that extra sleep Smile

I am definitely hoping to catch up on my rest too. When I start tripping on my own feet, it's definitely time to wind down! I do have sensational stamina for long hours and hard work, but this feeling of being frazzled is something I've got to shake off and I think that getting caught up and rested is the only way to do it.

This month has been the busiest month ever not just for orders, but it's been one non-stop social engagement with school, sports and family events! My calendar some days has had 3-4 nights in a row of evening events, school tours and orientation, karate, soccer practice just started, art shows, kid's school plays... then since these things don't come around often around here, you jump on them when you get the chance- we went to monster trucks and I took Connor to Peter and the Wolf. Then a few days later, Steven and I went on the first "Date" we'd been on since my birthday (which was 9/10- that's how much we work, we never even get out together), and we went to the final recital for the international piano competition.

I'm a total introvert, so all of this socializing has sapped me of any extra energy I could have. Going out in public is a drainer for me. I revive by being alone, not by being around others. I dread the nonstop interaction that other people crave. I just don't have the energy for it. Sunglasses on in the grocery store? I go incognito as much as possible, LOL!

This month still has lots of stuff happening... so wish this INFJ lots of luck!!!

I can't wait for April, so far my calendar looks bleak, and I love it that way... Smile Smile

i completely understand the introvert thing! we get drained so quickly from social stuff, even if its fun!

and yes, we love eyeshadow, but none of us HAS to have it by a deadline! all of your loyal AL addicts will still be here, plus we all have a buttload of samples to play with in the meantime!

rest up!

Yes, Kristen, take care of yourself and spend some down time with the men in your life. Seriously, when it's time to exit this plane of existence nobody ever says they wish they'd worked more, but plenty of people wish they had taken more time to enjoy the little day-to-day events of life. That's so sad, but happens all the time. You've deserved a vacation for a long time and I agree what what everybody else said.

When I did the Victim Advocacy work we had an annual conference and a required session every year was called "Vicarious Tramatization". The basic point was that if we allow ourselves to get burned out we aren't effective in any area of our life. You've been hovering on the edge of burnout for a while, so take a couple of days and relax! Play like a kid, photograph your family or some flowers or birds or whatever - just enjoy and be grateful for the little gifts in your life. Even just a day of that can be a huge spirit renewal!

Please have some fun!
