For those who don't know, makeup artist Carmindy (of "What Not To Wear" fame) has a book in which she explains a quick and easy makeup routine that can be built upon. It involves foundation, concealer, powder, highlighter, blush, eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick. Mine is a somewhat different look based on this routine (specifically, it's less sheer and minimalist, but still less than a typical made-up face).

Here's my before. I'm not particularly happy with the picture, as it was in different lighting, and I wasn't really smiling. Oh well. (>.< ) Haven't washed off yesterday's makeup yet.

After searching for months and tanning lots (the natural way) since coming to college, I've currently (read: today) settled on 4Y for my foundation. Lips are Lollypop; cheeks are Halo; and eyes are dark brown liner and black lash tint. Wizard Gold for highlight on browbones, tops of cheekbones, and inner corners under my eyes. The minimalist version of this routine probably takes less time than what mine took, but I like what I got out of it.

Cool Winter: cool olive skin; dark-grey hazel eyes; dark brown hair.

You look fabulous before and after! Love your eyes. Looks like you've got a great foundation match here. It totally evens out your skin, and your face and neck match very well. Great job!

Thank you! I'm so glad. The other ones I've tried looked off-color from my neck; I used 3YL alone or in blends for a long time, and I never realized it was too beige.

You look so gorgeous! I am so happy to see your pretty face on the forum Smile I remember seeing you on the fb page and hoping you would post here. Funny, lollipop doesn't read as strongly on you as it does on me. And I bet wizard gold makes a great highlight. Your face SO much more even and glowy. A small improvement though (I have been getting full of myself lately, so sorry if this suggestion is dumb) have you thought/tried adding Rose Coquille under your eyes? I hope to see more FOTDs from you in the future. Your eyes are the perfect canvases for COLOR! Smile

Thanks, both to you and to Zhariel. Smile The Lollypop I have is in a sample baggie; I don't know whether that would be why. Hm...I did try it once or twice but wasn't satisfied at the time. I'll have to try it again and see how it turns out, maybe underneath a concealer color.
