So here is a before and after. Not even close to the same lighting or setting but I really liked the final result using the AL products! My photographer liked the shot so much he wants to use it for his business cards.

Thanks guys. I do a lot of styling for my photographer friend as well. So for test shots like this, I end up with some fun photos of myself sometimes!

Whoever said glasses weren't sexy? Men go crazy for the "naughty librarian" look. If I could see a bit better I'd wear mine more often instead of contacts.

Oh I know some people like glasses! I guess I just get annoyed with situations like when I was planning my wedding and lots of girls on wedding message boards would say things like, "I would never wear glasses to my wedding because I want to look beautiful for the big day!" Sorry guys! I came home from this trip sick as a dog. Sick. As. A. Dog. And forgot to tell you what I'd used. *smacks forehead*

I started out with MAC full coverage foundation in 15NC for my concealer. I then used Voile in 2W and 2N.

Cheeks: I first applied Lorac blush in Red (does anyone have a good AL alternative?) and then applied AL Glorious over the top of that.

Eyes: I foiled ego on my entire lid up to a little past the crease and blended, and then foiled some mutiny on the outer part of the upper lid. I then foiled a bit of tarnish into the crease and smudged a bit of it to the outside of my upper lids. Suede was applied dry up to my brows and I then foiled a line of moon just under my brows. I felt the crease needed a bit more depth so I added some MAC espresso to the crease and also used that on my brows. Upper lids only were lined with MAC gel liner in bootblack.

Lip: nothing but Aquaphor!

Lashes: black mascara and lashes from Display & Costume.

My hair was curled with an iron. I spent some time in the hospital last year and a bunch of my hair fell out so it's got a lot of little nubbins that are growing back in!

I'm not sure exactly what color Lorac Red is, but Corset (from the Gothic Lolita collection) is a gorgeous clear red that lots of girls love -- I think it's one of those magical colors that looks great on almost every skintone It's fairly shimmery (at least for my super oily skin!) but you can tone down the shimmer by applying a dusting of Voile on top. Dryer skin types may not find it that shimmery.

You can also sample Rocks Sonic Rouge in firewoman and cherrybomb. I haven't tried any of the reddish Pure Rouges, but I think that Corset, firewoman, and cherrybomb are all brighter reds than what you can find in the Pure Rouges

you look very pretty in BOTH pix! I really like the playful pose in the after, no wonder your photog wants to use it for his comps...

for red rouges, cherrybomb def has more warmth to it, while firewoman gives me that Ralph Lauren advert, slightly wind-burned flush - I love both of them if I want something w/a hint of shimmer to it, I'll reach for my corset rouge - girl can't have too many red rouges, I've found!
