When I met with the lovely Kristen earlier this month she suggested I try 1CL for my undertones. I've been playing with 1CL and various mixtures of Alabaster. I'm hoping that I finally hit on the correct mixture.

Anyways, here's my before shot. It's from after cleansing and moisturizing. You can see how uneven my skin looks, and how I have pink overtones.

And here's my after shot.

Your face does look flawless! You could maybe add a bit of 1Y to the mix, if you have it, to go a bit more with the color of your skin under your eyes/around your chin/on your chest. But that is just nit picking, and perhaps you like not having any yellow tones! Anyways, this foundation really did even out your skin and take out the redness.

I have a bit of peach, a bit of cream, a bit of beige and a bit of yellow undertones, along with the slight pink overtone. I do prefer to not have the yellow, because I think it looks a bit odd at times. But if I don't account for the yellow a bit, everything looks really off. The yellow is what makes it the hardest to match, I think.

You have always looked radiant in your FOTD looks. What, might I ask, were you doing with foundation before this mix? And what prompted you to tweak it? Was it just the meeting with Kristen?

I thought I was 1YL for the longest time, then woke up one day and realized I looked way too yellow and just wrong. So I've been experimenting ever since. I'd been trying 1N, 1W, 1N+1CL+alabaster, etc. and Kristen finally suggested 1CL + Alabaster, and I've been messing with that ever since Smile

Hehe, your skintone is something! Yeah, I really meant that I am seeing some creamy yellow tones, but I figured you already had L in the mix, so I didn't suggest YL. Well, if you are happy with it, don't tweak it!

However, if you are up to tweaking, I would suggest mixing 1 YL with the alabaster to match your creaminess, and then add that in various proportions to the 1 CL (and then some more alabaster if the end result is too dark). Well, I'm just blabbing, but maybe it's useful Wink.

Until I got my skintone professionally done, I didn't understand why it was always such a pain to find foundations that matched! I originally thought it was just because I was so pale, but now I also know it's because of my mixed undertones.

I feel like it's really hard for me to figure out the correct proportions to mix.
I finally hit on mixing about 75 to 80% 1CL and the rest Alabaster with working. I can try to add just a dash of either 1N or 1YL to see how that looks with the 75% 1CL.

Could you, pretty please? I'm not sure if I will like the foundation on you with more of the yellow tones to match some of your skin's tones. The totally cool foundation makes you extra pale and "glowy". On the other hand, I think a bit of N or YL would be perhaps a bit more natural looking. Maybe you could just vary what you add based on how you want to look on a particular day.

Z, you look awesome!

And I'm with you - I also have some very slight yellow undertones too, but any yellow in my foundations makes me look really weird. Even the Ns made me look kind of yellowy. Now the Ls are a perfect match for me, and they cancel out the yellow tones in my skin - it's a much better match for me. Remember, a natural tone in your skin doesn't mean you have to go with it, LOL! TeeHeeHee
