Ladies, if you don't own this brush, I highly recommend it. I use mine a lot. It is so soft, but applies blush, finishing powder, the new Lumin. Divine powder , Perles, etc so beautifully.

i hear both fiber optic brushes are wonderful & would love to have both but with my budget... i can only afford one of these for the time being. i'd love to hear some feedback as to which one you find most versatile... the "fiber optic ultra-luxe" or "fiber optic blush"? i'd prolly use it mostly for blush so the latter seems to be the more obvious choice, esp since it's cheaper too... but since one seems to have a flat top and the other looks like the hairs are varied in length.... i thought i'd ask around. Smile

thanx!

Nadja, I don't have the ultra-luxe (yet! Big Grin LOL), but I love Love LOVE my fibre-optic blush brush!! Love I have a mad crush on Rocks! Rouges (firewoman and wildflower in particular), and the blush brush makes it SO easy to apply them sheerly and get just the right POP of "wow" colour... if you think you'd get more use out of the blush brush, I say definitely get one! you can always save up for when the ultra-luxe goes on sale again (that's what I did -- I'm dying to have one to use w/the new Metamorphosis FP!)... HTH! Smile

I also just have the regular Fiber Optic brush. It works great for applying very sheer layers of blush or other face powders. Like MommiePretty, I love using it with the Rocks blushes -- though my favorite is femmefatale, a little femmefatale applied under my foundation with the Fiber Optic brush gives my pale, warm skin a lovely, healthy glow! Smile I also like using it to apply a sheer layer of Verve, which is a tad too dark for me but looks better when applied with the Fiber Optic brush. (For lighter blushes, I still use a regular blush brush though!)

It also works well when you want to layer multiple blushes or products instead of mixing them -- like instead of mixing Verve with Innocence to make Verve lighter, I can also apply Verve and then Innocence (both with the Fiber Optic brush) to get a similar effect in less time than mixing Smile Whereas a regular blush brush would end up putting a lot of product on my face if I layered!

Now the regular Fiber Optic brush is pretty small (a tad smaller than a typical blush brush), so it would probably be hard to use with a product that you apply all over your face, like Illuminator or Divine Finishing Powder. If *looks* like the Ultra-Luxe brush has a bigger head than the regular one, so it would be better to apply products all over your face. Also, if you prefer big fluffy blush brushes, the Ultra-Luxe might work for blush too. However, since I haven't actually tried it, I don't really know. I am just guessing Smile

I vote you get the fiber optic blush brush first as you will love it for blush ,and can use it for little wisps of color from Lum Divine powder, Bronzer, etc..

Then save up for the big fiber optic brush later. It is a keeper for sure. I can use it for putting a light color over blush .

Maybe some day AL will carry a fiber optic that is between the blush size and the face size
Now that would be a great set of brushes.. Not to leave out the eye shadow fiber optics. they are equally great to use.
Oh I am such a brush ho.

Nadja, I'm sure you'll be VERY happy w/the blush brush! Smile as for femmefatale, I wouldn't call it so much a warm pink as a cool coral, if that makes any sense... I don't usually wear warm colours as they pretty much wash me out, but if femmefatale IS actually a warm, it's one of the few I can get away with: it imparts a soft glow to my cheeks, as opposed to the wind-burned flush I get w/firewoman or the other-worldly aura of wildflower... HTH! Smile

I would describe femmefatale as a bright pink with just a hint of coral/peach/orange. Because it does have that hint of coral, it is slightly on the warm side of neutral -- but it's definitely not a REALLY warm color!

(Check out this page: http://www.aromaleigh.com/whatcolarewa.html Since femmefatale has a hint of orange instead of blue, technically it would be warm! But it's not as warm as the colors shown on the example chart.)

Since femmefatale is fairly neutral, it would probably work well on a lot of skintones! I'm guessing MommyPretty has cool undertones since she usually prefers cool blushes, and I'm pretty sure that I have warm undertones since the peach and yellow undertones of 1W are a PERFECT match for my skin and I usually prefer warm blushes. Yet we both agree that femmefatale gives us a very natural, healthy-looking glow! It's definitely worth a sample at least! Smile

The Fiber Optic Blush brush is deeeeevine. The finishers, especially Metamorphis, goes on sooooo smoothly with it. Can't wait to get the Taklon Kabuki!

Grandma Yo is galloping with joy towards 61. Long brown hair streaked with a lot of silver, brown eyes, thick but neat dark brown eyebrows and lots of lashes, acne potted sagging skin light sallow skin and, still, non existent lips (ahhh but it doesn't keep me from smiling!)

oh dear.... you will adore this kabuki! it feels like velvet or suede against your skin! i honestly can't believe how soft and dense it is...that it's not real fur, and that i went so long without it! you'll never want to use another brush after you've tried this. too bad there aren't more brushes made with the same tapered taklon bristles. it'd be divine! Love

p.s. i am now in love with the fiber optic brushes! must get more!!!!

I've been eyeing up the fiber optic shadow brush. The description
quote:
No more splotchy, Morticia eyes, just a lovely wash of color from your even your darkest shades
made me laugh though, I was sort of going for Morticia eyes!! But it looks yummy, I think I may have to get it.

LOL! i thought the same thing when reading that... had to smile!

let me know how you like it. i've been eyeing a few new shadow brushes and this may be one of them! do you have the "eye crease" brush? i'm terrible at putting shadows in the crease and thought this would get me trying some new techniques.
