I ordered two of these during the virgo code/sale last week, and when they arrived yesterday, I had received two different brushes, one larger than the other.

They are the same basic shape- round, but one has a much longer handle and longer bristles.

I thought the smaller of them was the correct brush due to the "BRUSH-OPTICEYE8" on my invoice, but now that I look at the brush on the website, it has "FAUX FIBER LG POINTED 16" at the bottom, which is what the larger brush has printed on the handle.

I have sent an email and haven't heard back yet, so I am curious what the brushes ordered before the sale have on their handle...

Thanks in advance! =]

Hi, I just replied to you about this- I will paste in part of my response so that everyone is clear about the Ultra Cute, and all of the fiber optic brushes- they are all now taklon, and most styles are very similar, with only slight differences. The handles are slightly larger and rounder than the original animal hair fiber optic series.

"The small pointed #8 is no longer made, and I believe that you received the last one in our bin (we thought they were long gone). The fiber optic brushes were previously animal hair. Our brush manufacturer has stopped using animal hair and switched to taklon, and we switched over all (fiber optic) brushes on our site several weeks ago.

Since the #16 is only slightly larger and has only a slightly longer handle than the #8, we did not create a new name for this brush.

The photo on the page for the Ultra cute does show the #16 brush, and here is the description, which gives the slightly larger brush measurements. All of our fiber optic brushes have changed and new photos and dimensions added to reflect this.

This fabulously silky and smooth 1/2" x 1/4" sized pointed style brush head eyeshadow brush is amazing for sweeping shimmering mineral shadows across your lids, layering for a soft look or more intensity. This is a fantastic brush for applying for intensely pigmented eyeshadows. It makes the application of deep or very bright shadows a breeze!!!

This brush is the "sister brush" to our Ultra-Posh Black Silk Eyeshadow Brush. It is smaller and has a round, pointed brush head. We brought this brush in to our inventory on customer request!

This luxurious brush measueres 7" long including the brush head.

Cruelty free, this brush is made entirely from ultra-soft synthetic taklon fibers.

Thanks, Kristen!

Now it makes sense! (I guess I should count myself lucky to have even gotten one at all...Talk about a close call! Whew!)

I will find a way to make use of both of them, and hopefully, they won't discontinue manufacture of that one, too!

Thanks again, for your personal reply! It means so much! <3

My offer to return the #16 brush that you weren't expecting still stands, if you wish to send it back- it's not a problem!

Aww, thanks, Kristen! <3

While I appreciate the offer, I think I will adapt by trying both brushes for the highlighting I mentioned, keeping the smaller for tiny, targeted areas, and the larger for more general use.

It is a win-win, after all. I just wasn't sure if my mind was playing tricks on me. (And I do realize that once I have opened, and or used, the brush, my refund privileges are revoked...)

I have found that by using the oval fiber optic brush sideways, I can tackle the crease with ease, which I know was one of the "prescribed" uses for the ultra cute, but since I am used to my sideways method, I think I would just jinx any other attempts in my crease.

(I have also been using a couple of my oval brushes for highlighting and now I can dedicate the new ones specifically for that, freeing up some ovals for more color! Yay!)

*One question: Do you have any suggestions for an alternative to the clear plastic tubes that protect the fiber optic brushes?

I keep mine in them when not in use, and just slide them off as I need them, and then slide them from the bottom of the handle back over the bristles, but they are starting to crack on the sides...=(

Thanks again,
~Monica

I just realized yesterday that the new ones I got ARE labeled #8,but they are longer than the first one I bought last December. I am glad I found this topic. It explains why the new ones are so much larger. I think it's the best brush ever!

Blond, blue eyes, can wear cool colors mostly, some warms, and neutrals

Ladies- FYI- I got a brush order in today and all of the cutie brushes said #8 on them. They are longer handles, but the size is more in line. wix, if you haven't used that 16 and want to return for an 8, offer is there Email my husband, he'll take care of you.

I will make sure that all future orders are for the #8. THey had told me there was no 8 , just the 16 but looks like I got the wrong info.

WHich could be a good thing since we are back to the #8!
