Hi does any one know how to get dried on foundation off brushes? I have an old makeup brush that has makeup stuck to the ends of the brissels of the brush. I have tried every soap I have in the house and let it soak over night. Thanks for any help. Katrina

Hm, I always use baby shampoo and have never had a problem with foundation sticking to brushes.

Also, I recently bought Neutrogenia's Fresh Foaming cleanser after hearing raves for it online, but my face didn't like it. It's supposed to be a cleanser and makeup remover in one, so lately I've been using it to wash my eyeliner brush (I wash it every day after using gel eyeliners). And it works great! My brush has orange taklon bristles and the bristles are still a bright orange, the eyeliner hasn't stained them at all! When I used to wash with soap, the bristles always stayed stained...

So maybe you should try a makeup remover or some sort of cleansing oil to remove the foundation?

whatever you do try not to get the handle of the brush wet.this will loosen the glue and over time degrade the brush.

The best way to get foundation, cream blush, and other cream-based products out of brushes is to wash with dish soap---believe it or not! It really works since it has some de-greasing agents. You don't need a lot or it will take forever to rinse out of the brushes. I believe dish soap is an ingredient in Enkore's homemade brush cleanser, too Smile

Definitely, try to avoid getting the handle wet....if it does come apart, "Gorilla Glue" works well to put it back together!!

Yes, this is true! Gorilla Glue has saved many of my old brushes.
