Gentlefolk,

I'm trying to figure out which Tacklon brush is best for applying the pure blush. I typically use an angled or flat brush, but the flat one available from aromaleigh seems kind of large for blush application. I've also never used a Tacklon brush before, so they may work differently. Sephora describes theirs as "non-porous and non-absorbing hence a lighter application and less waste of product", which sounds wonderful. I'm hoping aromaleigh's works the same way, as they cost is MUCH less (as does everything from this great company).

I'm also wanting to know which Tacklon shadow brush is best for lid work and contouring. My eyes are kind of almond shaped.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Cassidy, the Taklon brush collection is fairly new, I don't know how many of the ladies here have many of them yet. Most of us have the kabuki and swear by it, it's definitely the best kabuki I've used, far better than many much more expensive ones!

I've been using the fiber optic brush to apply the Rocks Rouges and Elemental Lustres.....but plan to add a taklon brush for my other blushes soon. Sorry I can't be of more help!

I agree with Cin -- I have and love the Taklon Kabuki, it is the softest brush EVER and I absolutely love it for foundation! I'm sure the other brushes are just as soft and would be wonderful if you can find the right brush for the purpose you want. However, I have not tried any of the other taklon brushes yet. Hopefully someone will come by and help you out!

If you do decide to buy any of the taklon brushes, please stop back and tell us how you liked them! Also, have you check to see if there are any reviews yet for the brushes you want?

If I had to guess, I bet either the Small or Large Rounded Face Brushes would be good for blush. But again, that's just a guess, I haven't tried them yet Smile

Like Cin, I also love the Fiber Optic brushes for blush -- since I am so pale, most brushes are too dark and/or too light for me. But the fiber optic brushes give you a much more sheer application than a traditional blush brush, so I am able to wear a lot of colors that would be too dark for me otherwise! Smile I also love the two smaller fiber optic brushes for eyeshadows -- they are great for blending or applying sheer washes of colors.

If you want a lighter application of blush, I'd actually recommend the fiber optic brushes. The taklon kabuki actually gives me a heavier application than other kabukis because the bristles are so tightly packed. *If* the other face brushes also have tightly packed bristles, they may give you a heavier application than you're looking for. But if they are more fluffy, then they could be great for blush!

Thanks very much for the advice. I also need to apologize - I described my eyes in my post (before I modified it) as being "almond shaped, but not oriental". Apparently "oriental" is now considered a derogatory term, although I've never heard it as such. I certainly didn't mean it to be an insult! I was just trying to describe the size and shape of the eye area I have to work with for applying shadow. I'm the last person in the world that would judge anyone by their race, nationality, etc. I'm very sorry if I offended anyone!

If you're still taking opinions...the bigger fiber optic brush is hard to beat when it comes to blush. (I have the smaller one too and it's great for blending eye colors because it's gentle and it doesn't cause you to over blend like some dense brushes can.)

Since I am so light-skinned I love the fact that the blush brush allows me to build the color I want so that I don't end up looking clownish. This is especially true for the brighter blushes you referred to.

One thing I've noticed is that I don't see this type of brush on other sites. I am always looking for a bargain but knowing what I know about this type of brush head, I wouldn't bat an eye if I had to pay more than I did to get it.

Thanks everyone - this really helps! I'm fair skinned as well and have never used anything but the lighter colored items offered by AL in fear that I would look like I got in a fight with a make-up kit and lost! Maybe if the brushes work out, I might get bold and experiment.

It sounds like the FO brushes are the best bet for me, although I will probably get the small Kabuki for putting finishing powder on. I use a make-up sponge for applying my foundation to help minimize the appearance of my large pores (a tip I got off the AL "how-to" guide years ago).

I think I'm ready to do some buying!
