I've been planning a big order for a while now, hoping to get a few full-size items and brushes all at once to combine shipping and cash in on a coupon code. Smile It just occurred to me that the SSTK is probably one of the more urgent things I need when I make this order (my drugstore generic kabuki is so scratchy, I cringe every time I go to use it), and it's on sale till tomorrow! So I need to rush decide what else to get. I'll get a FO blush brush one day, but I don't think it'll be on this order (maybe next time it's on sale.) I think I'm happy enough with my current oval eyeshadow brush, but it doesn't do the crease the way I'd prefer. Any suggestions? Should I look at the angled brush, or the smudger, or a smaller oval?

I have a couple of brushes I use for the crease:

A small non-AL brush very similar to the Line and Smudge -- this really isn't the best for an ultra-blended look, but works great for applying a thin line of color in the crease (then maybe go back with another brush if I want it more blended).

I also have a discontinued AL brush similar to the Smudger brush -- it works best when I want a bit bolder application in the crease (the one I have gives me a thicker line than the first brush -- not sure if the new Smudger is the same size). But the rounded shape fits perfectly into your crease Smile The Pointed Sculptor may also work although I haven't tried it.

Finally, I use the Ultra Cute Fiber Optic Brush almost every day to blend out the edges of the crease color after first applying it with another brush, or if I want a more subtle crease color, I just apply the crease with the Ultra Cute brush and that's it!

For me, an angled brush is best for a cat-eye look or for liner -- I think rounded brushes work best in the crease (at least for me)!

EDIT: Oh wait, I was thinking of the angled liner brush -- I haven't used anything like the angled sculptor!

I use the angled brush because it is just the right size to even disperse and build pigment. The smudger is too tightly packed to use for that (esp. for darker colours).
Hope that helped.

I like the sculpted crease brush for defining color in the crease, and then I use another brush to blend it out.

Edit:
The pointed sculptor

Since I like to use darker colors in the crease, I prefer one of the fiber optic shadow brushes, the Ultra-Posh when I don't need to be as precise or for blending large areas, and the Ultra-Cute for more precise work or for using with a reeeaaaallllly dark color like some of the rocks! black shades. I find that the Ultra-Cute has a smaller head and picks up less pigment than the Ultra-Posh, so it's easier to control the placement of the shadow and to build layers to achieve the look you're going for. HTH! Smile

Edited to add: Definitely consider getting the SSTK! It is the best brush I have ever used and is perfect for applying Voile and Glissade.

I usually use the Smudger brush to put the shadow into my crease and then blend it out with a non AL smudger brush similar to the angled sculptor brush.

I have the pointed sculptor brush, but it's too big for me to do the detail work in the crease the way I like it.

My favorite crease brush is the ultra-cute black silk fiber optic brush. I use it every single day and in every FOTD look posted here. I blend out the edge of my crease (area between the brow bone and the crease color) with a non-AL brush though.
