What are the bristles in this brush made of? Are they synthetic? Lately I've been noticing that my animal hair brushes are causing me some irritation (from allergies I think) so I want to replace them all. Luckily I have the SSTK, which I love, for foundation, but I need something for highlighter powder.

most fiber optic brushes are made of black goat hair and the white part is synthetic. since the synthetic feather-like hairs extend past the goat hair (which is the only part you really use) i doubt this would be a problem unless your allergies are very severe.

hopefully someone will be around here to either back me up or correct me if i'm wrong.

p.s. if that's not good enough and you want a completely synthetic brush.... you could always try a large fan brush which can work extremely well... much like a fiber optic. hth! Smile

Thanks so much for the info, Nadja! I wonder how they get the synthetic fibers bonded to the goat's hair?
