Hi Ladies,

Got my new ultra-cute fiber optic eyeshadow brush the other day.

I have to say that I just LOVE this new brush. It works great to get just a little bit of color OR to pile it on.

I've also found that using it as a crease brush is just the best for me. I sometimes apply too much in my crease and end up having to tone it down. But using this brush as a crease brush eliminates that problem for me.

Highly recommend this new brush. It's great!

Loida Smile

Cool, thanks Loida! I was seriously considering getting this brush for the very reason you stated, about sometimes getting a little too much in the crease.

I do believe it will be in my next order!

Awesome! I was also planning on ordering it someday to apply shadows more sheerly in the crease! The Ultra-Posh brush works great for washes all over the lid but is a bit too large for crease work Smile

I love this little F/O brush, too. It is the first F/O e/s brush for me ( I have the all over face and the blush). This one is nice b/c it is so small I can control exactly where I put the minerals (no easy feat for me - I don't have the steadiest of hands Smile)

This is great information to have. Thanks for sharing. I also have "control" issues and this brush sounds like it might be just the thing I need while I'm still learning to perfect my loose mineral shadow technique.

Highly recommend this brush. I don't have much time to do my mmu in the morning so I usually just go with two colors on my eyes. I like to put a match my outfit color from lash to crease, then use a darker color in the crease, then take the crease color much lighter up to the brow. This is the perfect brush for that and why I tried it.

Age 54, I use 2WL voile, porcelaine, tarnish pure hue for eyebrows and eyeliner. My hair is auburn (Henna), eyes brown, skin fair. oily T zone.

I love the smaller shape, perfect for application of dark colors in the crease.

Having only recently realized the wonders of the fiber optic face brushes, perhaps I should add one of these little FO shadow brushes to my next order!!

Thanks for the review on this brush... it sounded good to me, and now sounds even more necessary! I have one larger fiber optic eye brush, but it is a little too big for 'detail' type work. This one sounds perfect for me.

I should toss it in the shopping cart now so I can order when the shop opens on Sunday (I hope that Kristen got some rest this week). Big Grin

This is good to know.
I was applying makeup this morning and noticed all of the hairs are coming out of the brushes. They are about 4yrs old now, so time to change!

I have a question about the size of this brush head ... is it the same size as the MAC 224 - larger? or smaller?

No idea how this brush compares to anything else -- but it's the perfect size. I actually find the shadow brush a bit big and use it to apply my coquille.... the ultra-cute brush is so perfect for shadows that I ordered a second one so I have one for the lid and one for the crease....

I've been looking at this brush and thinking of getting it. It sounds like this is perfect for shading.

I think I'm going to get one of these for use with dark e/s shades. No matter how light of a hand or what brush I seem to use with blacks and grays, they seem to look splotchy on me. Hope fully this brush will make them easier to blend.

I've been wanting this since it first came out because I have a really tough time with the crease/outer area of my eye. I ordered it today and I can't wait for it to arrive. I've never tried a fiber optic brush so it'll be a whole new experience for me.

I got mine yesterday and it's fabulous. It's similar in size and shape to another brush I have but it's much more precise. The eyeshadow didn't go all over and I was able to get really good coverage in a narrow area. Totally worth the money.

cindy, aren't fiber optic brushes AWESOME!?! you would fall in love with the ultra-cute FO brush and wonder what you ever did without it! esp since you wear lots of darker shades. ella, bluesblonde, girl_geek, girl1der, abbsteroo, you will all love it too.

for those who haven't tried any type of fiber optic brush yet... they make absolutely fantastic blush brushes. it makes even the brightest or darkest shades look unbelievably gorgeous! no excuse for clown cheeks now! and the ultra-cute FO shadow brush makes blending way too easy. it's my magic wand! Love i love using it when i'm rushed and don't have much time to "put on my face". i rarely go low-key in the makeup department so it's just perfect for rush jobs. it only takes a minute or two to do a great smoky eye look. of course i use it for more detailed work as well since that is way more fun. i prefer taking loads of time to enjoy my healthy addiction. Wink

unfortunately i don't have the ultra-posh brush yet. could someone tell me if it's fuller than the ultra-cute or is it just wider? perhaps a picture of them side by side? i need to invest in the newer blush brush as well. i think i will love it for contouring. so, cross your fingers ladies! i'm hoping one of them will go on sale next wednesday cuz with my luck i'm positive that as soon as i purchase one for full price... it will be marked down the following wednesday. Razz

I'd love to buy every single fiber optics brush. The problem with these threads is that I thoroughly convince myself I can't live another SECOND without that tool, you know, the one I hadn't even HEARD OF previously?! I need an AL Anon thread Wink

A side by side comparison WOULD be helpful, the numerical dimensions just never seem to give me much of a picture.

Nadja -- I have the Ultra-Cute brush now and I love it! It works just as I thought it would -- great for too-dark crease colors! Also, since shadows tend to "stick" a little too my non-AL primer (rather than gliding on smoothly like without a primer), I can use the Ultra-Cute brush to apply a sheer layer of shadow around the edges of the color to make it look more blended.

The Ultra-Posh brush is thin and wide if that makes sense (kind of like the fluffy fiber optic version of the flat liner brush?), while the Ultra-Cute brush is definitely round. I don't think the Ultra-Posh brush is any thicker than the Ultra-Cute; if anything it might be a bit thinner. (I am going off memory here!) The Ultra-Posh is wide enough that I think it's best for applying washes of colors to your entire lid, rather than just to one part of your lid like a crease color. I think the Ultra-Cute would be too small for an all-over wash like that. So they both have their uses!
