hi does anybody know if AL Ultra-Luxe Black Silk Fiber Optic All-Over Face Brush compares equally to mac 187 brush. The mac 187 brush cost 42.00 and the same kind of brush sells at AL for 26.00.

Well, I've never tried the mac brushes, or the all over face brush, but I must say the FO blush brush is amazing! It allows you to put on just a little bit of color, but also to blend it, and it feels softer than any other brush I've used!

The Aromaleigh brush is about twice the size of the MAC one and not as dense. I've used it with liquid and cream products and for me it's just a bit too floppy, but I LOVE it for finishing powders. It's big size makes it perfect for the light application. Smile

I don't have the Mac 187 but I have all of Aromaleigh's fiber optic brushes, and I love them all!

As Jes said, the All-Over Face brush is pretty large but is wonderful for finishing powders or any other time that you want a light dusting of powder over a large area. The bristles are quite long so I could see it being a bit "floppy" for liquid products.

The Blush brush is more oval shape than round and is a lot smaller than the All-Over Face. It works great for blush (duh!) or more precise application of finishing powders, color correcting powders, etc. Since I am so pale and most blushes are too bright or dark for me, this brush allows me to wear a lot of colors I couldn't wear with a "regular" blush brush! I could also see this being used for liquid foundation, since it's a similar size to the foundation brushes I used to use if not a bit wider. (I've never tried a stippling brush for liquid foundation, but I did use to use taklon foundation brushes.) However, since it's not round it's still not quite the same as the 187.

The Ultra-Posh brush is perfect for a wash of eyeshadow color all over your lid, or for applying light layers of powder concealor on undereye circles.

The Ultra-Cute brush is perfect for more detailed eye work -- highlighters, soft/blended crease colors, or blending colors.

Hope that helps!

I own and use 2 Al FO brushes, as well as some other Al brushes, and think they're all fabulous. Cool

Current Al favs: 2Y Voile; Corset, Sweetheart and Persimmon pure rouges; Arielle, Seaglass and Slate eye shadows; Marcasite gel eyeliner

Personal coloring: ash brown hair (looks dark in photos) with reddish highlights (only visible in bright sunlight) and a few white hairs; soft grayed blue-green eyes; fair neutral skin (Al level 2) that burns then tans; Irish-English ancestry. I do not look good in obviously warm colors. I believe I'm either a Color Me Beautiful "Cool Summer" or a Donna Fujii "High-Contrast Summer," as the colors of these 2 palettes suit me well.
