Just want to say how I love Dolly and Corset Pure Rouges! When I wear basic black and white clothing... Dolly and Corset are just the perfect blushes!

I plan to take them to Dillards...hoping to find summer sandals to match!! Maybe a new purse, too!!

Joanne......................!

Yes, all 3 of those rouges are gorgeous. Smile

I wore Corset with a black dress for a formal photo my DH and I had taken while on our cruise. The photo turned out really, really good. Cool It's incredible how fresh and natural Corset looks.

Current Al favs: 2Y Voile; Corset, Sweetheart and Persimmon pure rouges; Arielle, Seaglass and Slate eye shadows; Marcasite gel eyeliner

Personal coloring: ash brown hair (looks dark in photos) with reddish highlights (only visible in bright sunlight) and a few white hairs; soft grayed blue-green eyes; fair neutral skin (Al level 2) that burns then tans; Irish-English ancestry. I do not look good in obviously warm colors. I believe I'm either a Color Me Beautiful "Cool Summer" or a Donna Fujii "High-Contrast Summer," as the colors of these 2 palettes suit me well.

I've been wearing Corset a lot lately. I think it is kind of an unusual color-I'm getting a sample of Dolly soon and I'm sure I'll like it too.

Interesting. I was worried about those two colors. I thought that corset looked too red and dolly too pink...

If the colors are too bright for you, try applying a light dusting of foundation on top! Corset by itself is a bit too red and too shimmery for me, but it's one of my favorites when worn with a light dusting of Voile on top! Lately I've been wearing Corset several days a week like this! Big Grin

I love corset. I only need a very few mineral grains to look my cheeks were just pinched!
I love red blush, anyway.

corset is my absolute favorite shade of rouge. sometimes i wear it like girl_geek under my foundation and other times i want more punch and apply it with a fiber optic or angled face brush.

Corset is a bit bright on me compared to Rococo, though I am super pale, but I found the application method makes ALL the difference in the world in terms of wearability on that shade on me. Under the foundation, or with a swirl of foundation on the brush WITH the blush really helps, and the fiber optic blush brush is on my covet list as one of the next tools I'll buy - their ability to deposit a very sparse amount of minerals with good control makes it perfect for things like Corset that have such intensity.

Yay for thin layers of color, as opposed to the traditional blotch!

Ohhh, I love, love, love Corset! I only use a teensy bit, but it makes my cheeks looks just perfectly flushed. I'm so pale that most cheek colors look clownish or muddy, but this one is so transluscent, and it looks great with Lollypop and Wallflower lip cremes.

Can't wait to try more of the line.

Nadja,

No, I haven't progressed to the sonics yet. My big problem is that I am a lunch lady by day...literally, I run a high school cafeteria. The teachers laugh at me because they say I'm the glam version of a lunch lady, with my crazy red hair and my makeup, but I'm still in a high school, so I have to tone it down. Then I go home and deal with 3 little girls...needless to say, I don't get out much, so I don't have much call for a lot of the really fun colors. Hopefully, now that hubby has a job that will give him an occasional weekend night off (he's in the restaurant biz), we'll get a social life again and I can go wild!

Hi firewoman, I wouldn't worry about "going wild" with the rocks sonic rouges. They look totally bright and crazy at first glance but I found that they actually provide the most natural blush tones of all that AL offers (I have 50+ samples of pure blush, pure rouge and rocks! sonic rouge, and perle powders) when applied sparingly. Not much shimmer to speak of so they are actually a bit tamer than the gothic lolita rouges (which I also love BTW).

Here I'm wearing "sinisterrouge" rocks! sonic rouge (and below that I'm wearing "firewoman" rocks! sonic rouge); see how natural they look.

girl1der,

Wow, do you ever have the most beautiful eyes! Perfect for making up, too. I used to love getting clients like you when I was a makeup artist!

I'm glad to hear that about the Rocks! Sonic rouge. Great...now I'm back to the old ordering board. Luckily, I just ordered a bunch of other goodies, so I'll be able to hold out for a sale. And of course, I'll HAVE to try "Firewoman", right? Mwahahaha

Another quick tip that may have been mentioned already, if you try the Rocks! Sonic Rouges, layer them under your foundation. I usually put my base layer 1Y down first then my Sonic Rouge and then the rest of my foundation layers. It gives a natural glow.
Definitely sample these first, a little bit of this stuff goes a very long way, just a few grains on your blush brush (fiber optic is ideal) will do the trick.

37 years old, I apply a layer of 1Y then apply 2W, medium brown hair, hazel eyes.

Thanks firewoman,

I swear I wasn't fishing for a compliment though. Wink I just didn't know how else to show you how subtle the rocks rouges really can be other than posting pics from my gallery.

And like desert_sage said, some woman have better success applying the rocks rouges with the fiber optic brush (or layering under foundation). Here, I applied them with a regular blush brush over my foundation. Being a former makeup artist, I'm sure you will have no trouble getting it just right for your complexion too.

Take care,

Robyn

Fiber Optic Blush Brushes are definitely the way to go for blushes. I was afraid of blushes and only had 1 blush (a cream blush) before I tried mineral makeup.

Now I've got several blushes, and 2 fiber optic blush brushes!

I hope you like the rocks rouges Smile
