Kristen,
If I heard you correct, these shadows did not sell as you anticipated.

I purchased the YAD kit on the day you released it and I use all the ES's regularly. I was hesitant about the yellow shade but it is perfect alone or as a combo. If fact, I am wearing it solo today! It is such an innocent, soft shade. I am stumped as to why people aren't buying it. Especially those that are more daring with their eye make-up and incorporate more color on a daily basis.

Try it...you'll love it!

Thank you Pat!

I am so glad you are loving your YAD shadows... I personally love Pearl and Petticoat...

ladies, I do have samples available of all of the YAD shadows!

The colors really are not bold or bright, they are quite neutral and buildable... nothing to be afraid of. I know the description of the line is "elegant gothic lolita", but the girls in Japan that embrace this style of fashion are known for being fresh-faced and lovely- not bold, bright and made-up. The colors in the collection are very fresh and natural, all of them quite botanical in essence if you look at the color palette.

K

Brown/Black Hair • Greenish eyes • 1YL or 00 Glissade normal skin/dry in winter • Neutral coloring- I can wear pretty much anything but I love pinks/reds/mauves on my eyes • Clarisonic/Vitamin C/Baby Quasar/Retin A junkie • Love Rocks! and Elemental Lustres shadows • I always wear lots of black with a bright color and match my eyeshadow to my clothing... love breaking the rules • 37 y/o

Ok, if nadja, who is young, hip, and edgy, and I, who am middle-aged, a little more conservative, and only has large hips as opposed to being hip, both love this collection, then that speaks volume about YAD's versatility.

this may sound corny.. but remember the pics someone posted of color swatches on her arm?
that helps me a lot with choosing colors I might otherwise see as too bright, too young, too "hip" beyond my hips !LOL
Just seeing the colors on the webpage, they look really bright to my eye. Metamorphosis I love and can easily use it in place of my finsihing powder I mix up from Illuminator/coquilles/perles.
We just put a roof on our house so budget is tight but I might do a sample order for these YAD colors..

61 yr old, light complected, rosacea -sensitive skin, fading auburn hair, hazel eyed, lightly freckled,
MMU= 2 Y/L + a tad of 2 Pink Glissade.
Topped with an Illuminator/juane,verte,blue coquille powders, and Splendor and Allure Perle powders mix for finishing powder.Leaves a soft ,velvety finish, natural look - not a dry skin/ aged looked

Jane, petticoat is a wonderful buttery yellow. It is not bright at all when applied dry (haven't tried it wet yet.) It works great for brightening my eye area and for reducing dark circles under my eyes.

And vintage is a muted green that reminds me a bit of swampthing, a little more green but still muted like swampthing.

Lolita is similar to eros, and pearl is the most wonderful pink that give a youthful look to the eyes.

Not corny at all, Jane. I have referred to that swatch pic before placing an order more than once!

Our Dear Miss K! I thank God every day I found your web site full of minerals! I've been placing orders for about a month or so and have just recently registered on the forum. I have been extremely impressed with EVERYTHING I've purchased thus far. And as far as the YAD collection, I did not purchase the whole set. I went for the pieces as I was drawn to them. I won't use any other finishing powder than Metamorphosis. Dolly and Corset are the only Pure Rouges I've purchesed so far (I do have my eye on a ton more others!). Gothic eyeliner was my first and only (so far) also. And as for the 'not selling very well e/s'...I have not a clue!!! Pearl is the most prettiest pink for me. It goes so natural with my brown hair and brown eyes. Lolita and Petticoat are to die for. And Vintage, that is my MOST FAVORITE!!! It is a dream green for me!. I love the shade soo much that (in the spirit of Pee-Wee Herman), yes, I would marry it (sucks for my husband,LOL!)! I wanted to try the 2 colorwashes, also, as I am sure I will fall in love with them, too. I read you want to try and remarket this set. Please do whatever you can to try to save this AWESOME collection!!! I will be a customer of yours till I can't apply my own makeup any more. And I have a little girl who already loves to play with makeup so there is another new customer in training Smile So to all you Ladies out there who already like this set, lets help buy up what Miss K already has till the other people get the revelation of how blessed this whole set it. And for the Ladies who are hesitating, get your samples and I promise you, you will find something you will enjoy. Thank you, Miss K, for everything you do to make our lives more beautiful and exciting with the wonder of color!!! Many Blessings to you and everyone reading this!!

~Mollie~

Sotisse~ How do you apply Petticoat to brighten the eye are and reduce dark circles? I'm very intrigued. Do you use it as an all-over shade on the lid or just in the corners? Also for under the eye, do you apply over or under foundation? Thanks for sharing your tips!

Coloring: 1W Glissade (can get by with N or Y) Hazel eyes, hair back to dark red. Looks best in neutral or slightly cool-toned makeup.
Favorite products: Magnetism gel liner, Rocks! Rouges, Pinafore Color Cream, Adelaide EDT. Have yet to try an eyeshadow I didn't love.

It depends on what look I'm going for. If it's a natural, no-make up look, I use petticoat applied lightly all over the lid, under the brow, on the inner corner and under my eyes. I may not even wear foundation then; just throw on some color wash, and I'm ready to go.

If I want to look a little more made up, I may use petticoat like an eyeshadow base and pat my regular foundation over the petticoat on the circles under my eyes.

Petticoat is pretty subtle on my eyes doesn't look like I'm obviously wearing a yellow eye shadow.

Did I read this right - YAD is not a big seller?? That's just too odd, I think. Here's my experience. I got a free sample of Candy, tried it on my eyes and decided I needed a pretty pink with a little more color, tried several and when YAD came out thought Pearle was IT. Got Pearle and Lolita and thought it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Posted pics and based on comments, tried it again and took another look and liked it much better. Then I got Vintage and there's really something special when those colors are used together. My fave green had been CSM Pine, and while I still really like that a lot, the Vintage is the best green ever - and even better than that used with the pearle and lolita. I did a post about Vintage comparing it to Swampthing and Pine and while I like them all - they're very soft, pretty greens - Vintage is truly my fave. Haven't tried the Petticoat yet. I was all set to order full sizes of all the YAD shadows, but got a virus on my work computer and couldn't use it. I was thinking of waiting for a sale to order, but please, Miss K, if you decide to change anything with the YAD, put me down for a full size set of the shadows including 2 of Vintage! I bet anybody with any tones of green in their eyes would like the combo of Pearle with Vintage above the crease, Lolita as lower liner and Gothic on top would love, love it. Speaking for myself, I hesitated about the Vintage because it looked too yellow/chartreuse on my monitor, but it's a great color. I didn't figure that out until I posted my Pearle/Lolita and compared that to other posts using the Vintage in the combo.

54 yrs. old, natural silver highlights. Green eyes, cool skin tone. Level 4 Voile 50/50 C/L is my perfect match foundation. Fave AL product: Nocturne! My YLBB color: Impatiens. Fave eye combos: Blue Coquille with Tide Matte, Pearl with Vintage, Ophelia with Rockbottom, Bouganvillea with anything!
