Oh man, I know what you mean. It's like airbrushing in a jar. I wish I had more time in the mornings because my skin looks sooooo good when I have time to put on a full face: concealer, foundation, finishing powder, & blush.

Coloring: 1.5 level skin with yellow undertones, hazel eyes, medium golden/reddish brown hair color. Surprisingly, I look best in neutral and cool-toned makeup. Love greys and pinks. Absolutely! I don't use it every day, but when I do, I always think, jeez, it's like my face has been airbrushed!

And to think, how many people would look at you like you were nuts if you showed them a container full of greenish powder!

Yeah, Totally agree about the perle powders. And love, love, love metomorphosis! The green is ever so slight and is what helps hide any red. Keep going and you'll find lots of things that are wonderful and you can't live without.

i'm still a bit scared of trying a finishing powder because i feel like foundation + blush + finishing powder will just feel like too much powder on my face at once. but all the amazing things i keep reading about metamorphosis makes it soo tempting!

i did not think metamorphosis was heavy feeling, esp. if you apply using a fiberoptic. i know what you mean, rev, about not wanting it to feel heavy, and i was reluctant at first, too.

oh, i have already gotten into the perles! i took cinseven's advice on some perle colors, and i'm addicted to those, now, too!

i could spend so much $$ (even tho AL is very reasonably priced) so i decided to put gift certificate on my christmas wish list. i have the link to AL gift certificates in my faves , ready to send to pass along!

I agree with Cin, and if you use the fiber optic brush it gives you a light touch. I use the porcelaine, voile or glissade, blush, sometimes perle powder, then a finishing powder and you can still see my freckles some. Which is great because I don't want that "made up" look. I want me, but better!
There are so many choices the best way to go is samples. You might find just the look that you want. One might be perfect for evening, or that glow for the night out on the town, or the delecate airbrush finish for day.
You have nothing to loose!

You also don't need to use finishing powder all over all the time- I often use it as more of a highlighter. Lately I've been using the Cherry Blossom as eyeshadow as well. You can also just mix a tiny bit into your regular foundation powder. I love the finishing powders because there are so many options. Smile

custom mix of: voile/glissade 1YL-2YL plus a bit of Lilas Coquille. Green eyes, Dark purple/brown/black hair, freckles. Current faves: Bella, Sinisterrouge, and Luminary!

I do use finishing pwd everday.. and I do see my freckles lightly peeking out..

it is all in how you apply it. Fiber optic brushes for finishing pwd, blush, and perles are the best for a light handed approach.
SSTK is great for mmu application for a light approach(still can add more in areas you need more coverage without a heavy powdered look).

and spritizing really makes my mmu look velvety soft and natural.

But I look best with my finishing powder on everyday.

62 yr old, light complected, rosacea -sensitive skin, fading auburn hair, hazel eyed, lightly freckled,
MMU= 2 Y/L + a tad of 2 Pink Glissade.
Topped with an Illuminator/juane,verte,blue coquille powders, and Splendor and Allure Perle powders mix for finishing powder.Leaves a soft ,velvety finish, natural look - not a dry skin/ aged looked

The Ultra-Luxe Black Silk Fiber Optic face brush is indispensable for applying finishing powders. It puts just enough down to give you a soft glow without it being obvious and it is so soft. The Fiber Optic blush brush is great for intensely colored blushes like the Rocks! Sonic Rouges, just a few grains gives you that perfect glow.

Honestly I felt the same way being worried if anything beyond foundation and blush will be too heavy. That is totally not the case at all, Metamorphosis and the Perle Powders are weightless on me at least (Voile foundation feels very light in general as well). On Halloween I had a decent amount of Voile in Alabaster on and a heavy dose of Metamorphosis to give me a nice super pale complexion (I was a zombie), and even with all of it on I didn't even notice it on my face. But with normal wear you won't notice the addition of a finishing powder at all, they are super lightweight.

I love Metamorphosis as well. I bought it and then kind of forgot about it for a while. Now I use it every day. I love how it looks and it's not too heavy, as everyone else already said.

oo I love this too. It's my favorite AL finish. I thought maybe it might be green on my face but it definitely isn't. I actually am hording my last sample of it lol I need to buy a full size jar but have so much other powder especially when I went crazy with jane's mix and it ended up making two whole jars Frown so I'm holding off on buying it. Especially since I already spent a lot of money and had to prioritize on the kits and gifts to other people. It gives this glow like no other and I love this stuff so much and I hope it's never DC.

I ordered a sample of metamorphosis today...can't wait to experiment with it. As soon as I read the product description (I think it was the "otherworld-ly veil of transparency" part Smile), I was sold. Sounds like exactly what I've been looking for, even more so after reading y'all's posts!

Ella.. welcome to Al.. It seems you are already well on the way to becoming an AL Addict Diva . Mwahahaha
Metamorphoris is wonderful. Just be sure to use something like the fiber optic brush to apply only the lightest layer. Too much will look ,well, halloweeny ghostly. It takes so little of it that one sample should last a good while and one f/s is lasting me a looong time.
Let us know how you like it.
PS: I hope you try some of the lovely Perle Powders. and the Lusters eye shadows. Both are such 5 star winners Clap
