What PH colors are closest to Velvet Dream? I really love the color, but I'm wondering if Ruby, Garnet, Russet or something else is pretty much the same. Or a mix suggestion? Thanks

I don't have Garnet or Russet, but Delicate Burgundy PH is a pretty close match color wise. Here's a swatch of both wet/dry: (Outside with direct sunlight. No flash.)


You can't see it, but Velvet Dream has more "sparkle" LOL, while Delicate Burgundy has more of a smooth shimmer.

Okay - I did arm swatch comparisons of Velvet Dream, Jolie, Garnet, Times Square, badreputation, and Vampira. Sorry I don't have pix (see thread in newbie section), but here's what I'd say:

Velvet Dream has a brown undertone and more sparkle, compared to garnet, which has no noticible brown undertone and a much finer shimmer.

Velvet Dream is less purple and less smokey than jolie, making it slightly lighter, IMYO.

Velvet Dream is not as "bright" and is less pink (again, the brown undertone shows up) than Vampira.

It's less orange than badreputation and has WAAYY fewer sparkles than times square.

That's what I've got as far as similar colors go. HTH!

Hm, interesting. I've never thought of Velvet Dream as having much of a brown tone, although I suppose it does. It shows much more wine/red on me though. Maybe because I have a cool pale skin tone. It looks much more like Diane's sample on me than Naomi's. I grabbed Garnet for my free hue with my order, so I'll try mixing some things with that. Thanks for the swatches and info everyone =)
