Okay ladies, here's the challenge:

Pair a NEUTRAL/NUDE lid, with a BRIGHT and/or CONTRASTING pop of color on the lower lash line!

I really love doing this with a CONTRASTING color to my eye color- it really makes my eyes pop and 'appear' more green! This is also a great way to 'try out' some bolder/crazier colors...with just a hint along the lower lash line! Or you can go more subtle, if that is more in your comfort zone!

Here are some NEUTRAL/NUDE shade suggestions:

I think purples look amazing on brown eyes too, as well as yellows, oranges...

Interesting idea! I like wearing a nude-ish lid with a bright liner on the upper lid; however, everytime I try a bright liner on the lower lid it always looks "off" somehow to me. (I suspect it's because the bright color is closer to my eyes and overwhelms my light blue eyes. When the bright color is on the upper lid, my black-mascara-laden lashes provide a bit of a barrier between the bright color and my eyes!) I might need to experiment more, maybe I can come up with something I like

Here you go! This is a color combo I've wanted to experiment with for a while because I loved the look of Momof2angels "Astonishing" look.


~ nude frost as a base
~ cocoa bean in the outer V and crease
~ bamboo on the rest of the lid and blended into cocoa bean
~ sand over bamboo to dampen some of the metallic shimmer
~ ebony in outer v to darken it a bit and over lower lash line
~ persian kitten under the brow
~ greenbriar lower lash line
~ dark brown eye pencil
~ black mascara

I don't like wearing bright colors underneath my eyes so this is definitely going to be a challenge for me. But I do like being pushed (nudged) out of my comfort zone so this should be interesting.

Hm..I'm all about bright colors SURROUNDING my eyes...I'm gonna have to try this. I just placed an order yesterday so I should have it by fri/sat.

For those who are shy of brighter colors- maybe try a more muted color on the inner lower half, and apply the brighter color on the outer lower half?

For example:

I've also seen a look where the entire eye is neutral/nude, and then the bright color is only used on the waterline. That looks neat too!

I think I may actually participate in this challenge. And I already have a pretty good idea of what I want to use...

My first time participating in a challange. I didn't really go too daring, but it was fun to pick a bright color for the lower lashline.

I used:

Seed Pearl on entire lid to brow
Fox in crease, outer vee and blended up
Magnetism to line upper lash
Blueorchid with sealant to lower lashline
Karma and Poppy liner on lips
Verve on cheeks (I guess I could've picked a blush with a bit more purple)






As usual, this was brighter in person. Still having trouble photographing my makeup.

That looks great NUTC! It really helps to keep the rest of the lid nude....I tried something out last night and actually liked it. So, I'll post eventually

So far I really like the looks that have been posted! My MU was inspired by another one of Hoyden's looks, that was posted in the FOTD section, where she used Orinoco.

I used Orinoco all over my lid(over a nude base)
a tiny bit of Jolie blended at the outer corners, and then Jolie wet lined under my bottom lashes.
I think these shades helped to bring out some green in my eyes-although you can't really see it in these pics.

Don't worry that your selection isn't everyone's cup of tea...I love others coming up with suggestions that I wouldn't think of on my own.
