Ok, I LOVE the color wheel so let's do something with primary colors. Red, yellow and blue in any combination (or not!) that you choose.

The muse hit early this morning and I wanted to be wild and crazy. Why not! I could wear sunglasses.

Photobucket

More pix will be up at my blog later and more info.

I alternated eyes. Can you see how I wrapped the outer corner color under that eye? so even the lower colors alternate?

I figured it might be great. It really looks beautiful. Don't need sunglasses.

I played with it as I went, but I had the general idea before I started.

All dry
Blue is Swank
Red is Vampira
Inner corners lots of Dazzle (gold)
Highlight up center of face: Magnolia
Cheeks Candy-O (first time I've worn it)
Lined bottom with blue pencil
Lips: Wallflower (gorgeous color, such a pretty sheen to it) with purple gloss to cool it up a little

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Very Fair Skin, no oil
Neutral leaning to pink
Neck: 1 CL, topped with 00 or Ghost
Eyes: Deep brown; distinct black/gray rim
Ok, I am in love with both your looks Smile Calie, men just don't understand these things. If they can't get fashion, how can they get makeup I dunno Like the candy-o on you Karin! Oh, and you are a good example of a blue eyed girl who can wear blue shadow, Calie.
Both great looks!
Calie, the whole idea of the challenges is to get us to try colors and/or combinations of colors we wouldn't normally wear. Explain it to your hubby that way, but keep in mind he still might give you a funny look!
Pretty, Calie, and fun too!
Candy-O is a great color. I was debating between that one and an eye color as a blush, which I hadn't tried that way either.
I love all of these looks, ladies - way to jump right into Hottie's challenge! Smile
Karin, you are BRAVE, lady...! there's something about the way my brain is wired that WILL NOT let me do asymmetrical looks like this, but it looks so fun on you! I like the candy-o rouge, too Smile
Amber, DH might as well resign himself now to seeing you in looks that you don't normally wear Mwahahaha and if they look as good as this one does, why not?? Wink the red/pink combo really punches up the blue in your eyes, while the blue echoes the colour - nicely done! Clap
FH, WOW does that orange make your blue eyes POP!! WOW! and I love how you offset the brightness of velvetgoldmine w/the depth and subtlety of your sapphire/smokescreen combo - so pretty!!
my look for this challenge ended up looking very Autumn-y, even tho' I used mostly colours from the SS LE collection - I'll post in a few Wink
*MWAH!*
I just did a teal/green look yesterday, so I decided to go the opposite direction today and play w/red and yellow (and orange, of course - y'all know how I love my partial-rainbow gradients LOL)
featured colours for this challenge are be mine V'Day (yellow) on inner 1/3 of lid, chicory SS LE on middle 1/3, nasturtium SS LE (red) in V, viburnum SS LE in crease and to wetline, also smudged dry under 2/3 of lower lash line; cheeks are sundaygirl, lippie is wallflower...
it def looks like Autumn and not Spring, but oh well LOL
So here's mine. I wanted a really soft, ethereal effect. By the way, this is the first time I've used the voile with the prepping and finishing powders....what a difference. I also used the kabuki brush. I just slapped this stuff on after work so it's not great but overall I really liked the effect!
Face: Voile 2Y over clear silk powder, finished with ultra resolution. Light concealer.
Cheeks: verve
Lip: Make Up Forever red liner with Perfect over the top. Wish I'd blended it more....ew!
Eyes: forget-me-not on the outer lid and blended up a bit into the crease, with delicate gold on the inside lid. I also blended some infidel into the crease and added a touch of amelie to the middle of the lip and also upper lid and brow bone. Ben Nye dark grey liner applied upper and lower outer lids and black mascara.
What do you guys think of the 2Y? I think I may have found my match. I LOVE the Spring Soltice collection and know of at least two colors I'd like to get full sizes of.
Hottie, that's so cute! And it matches the spring trends... 2Y looks like a good match. It looks good in all the different lighting, and I've heard that the Y neutralizes redness.
Yeah, Calie, I really like those colors on you. I can't think of too many people they would work on, but they really worked on you! Not something you would wear to work, but for a fun look for going out or for wearing on the weekend, really cool! PS did you use any finishing powders? You have a really nice glow Smile
