Hey ladies. With the new L'orchidee soon to be in our mailboxes this week, i was thinking this weeks challenge should be about the tropics. Carribean, Tahitii, Indonesia, Amazon etc... lots of bright rich colors to choose from.

I don't know the name of the flower, but I'm really drawn to the blue /teal one in the middle. I never seem to have time to do these looks, or I can never get a good pic of it! But maybe this week I can get something posted.

Ooooh I love tropical/bright colors like this! A perfect pick-me-up since our weather has been cold and rainy lately!

I'd looove to participate on this one, those inspiration pics are breathtaking (even though I live in the Caribbean, it never ceases to amaze me!)

great idea, Amber! I don't have any of the L'Orchidee collection yet (I'm selling a few things to pick up some extra $$), but I love the pink plumerias on the 2nd row of your inspiration pix and based my challenge look on them using colours I already have:






this was MUCH brighter in person...maybe if I'd remember to use MO2A's TP-over-the-flash trick, that'd help... oh well LOL

here's what I used:
EYES
eye shadow primer all over
buttoned up EP from crease to brow
sunshine PH on inner 1/3 of lid
chicory SS LE on middle 1/3 of lid
hibiscus PH on outer 1/3 of lid
lookinforakiss Rocks! in crease (outer 2/3 only)
vampira Rocks! applied lightly in V over lookinforakiss
twinkling lights HB LE to wetline on upper lash line and dry under outer 1/2 of lower lash line
sunshine PH dry under inner 1/2 of lower lash line and up around tear duct
envy PH under brow
AL lash primer
2 coats mascara

FACE/LIPS
coquille vert on chin, around nose, and across forehead
alabaster voile w/just a smidge of 2YL foundation (I think this is just about perfect, despite how it shows up a bit light in the full-face pic)
twilight lustre all over
kinetic EL Cheek Glisten under cheek bones
breathless Rocks! Rouge rouge on apples
star bright GL shimmer over cheek bones
ultra res FP in clear
rosebud NCC on lips

i think the blue/green flower looks like plumeria or also called hawaian plant, very pretty and smells wonderful.

i love the puffer fish, i also didnt realize they were so small, cute!

Fun, fun, fun Tanya! Your eyes look like little tropical fish! And I remember someone saying that mineral makeup can photograph lighter with flash than it actually looks like in real life. Oh, Calie, that is a BABY puffer fish! The grown ones I have seen are about hand sized I love plumeria! They smell wonderful. I will do a plumeria look!

Here's my take on the tropical look:

bumble bee - inner 1/2 lid
cricket - outer 1/2 lid
showy - crease
shadow witch - outer corner, just into crease and as liner (top & bottom)
sunny disposition - brow bone

i did it!!
I only did one eye because it's late, I'm tired and well, I'm home for the night...

Ozone Rocks! e/s on and slightly above crease
OceanRain to line upper and lower

Cristin -- I am not a fan of greens on myself, but your teal and green combo looks great -- I might have to try teal + green on some weekend to see if it makes me like greens more

I like both of them! I love how Robyn could keep both colors well-defined but still well-blended, and I looove the green and teal too!

This is a great challenge! Love the inspiration photos. All of the looks are amazing so far. They make me look forward to warmer weather and perhaps a trip to the beach.
