I'm thinking that since I posted first to Horselover's Silent Movie Heroine challenge, I get to set this week's challenge. Yippee!

Looking out the window, the light today looks like Spring! It's still cold and snowy out, and Spring is really weeks and weeks away (it shows up in May, actually). But the sunlight looks like Spring!

I was peeking at backstage makeup looks from various runway shows, and at the seasonal beauty looks designer lines were showing for Spring. Lots of pink, which is predictable. But the pink was punched up with orange, which is less so.

So this challenge is to create a Spring inspired look using

AnOrange and a Pink.

Possible shadow choices include

Orange - Chloe, Amelie, Olivia, Sienna, Peach, Starfish, prettyvacant, agentorange, coralfang, velvetgoldmine, newrose, personalitycrisis, or any shadow that reads as orange on your skin. Your choice of depth, finish and temperature. If you are a cool girl, coralfang, newrose, personalitycrisis and chloe would likely be easier to wear than agentorange, Sienna or Olivia.

Pinks - SO MANY to choose from, I won't even list them out. Again, your choice of depth, finish and tone.

Feel free to add in other colors at whim.

And for inspiration:

There's a little taste. Now have fun!

**********************
My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

Ooo I will most defs be keeping an eye on this thread! I'll try to post a pic of the orange look you and horselover suggested in another thread for me, but in any case, it will be fun to see the ideas! I now have my sample of agent orange and there are a few pinkish shades in the OLs, so this should be fun.

Well, I tried out my challenge look yesterday... but I didn't have a camera to take pictures at the time. I will be trying it another day this week so that I can snap some pics. It turned out really nice. velvetgoldmine, Tea Rose, Coco Bean and Sapphire are the colors I ended up using. It really made my blue eyes stand out. Smile I can't wait to see everyone else's looks!!

Robyn, you look so pretty! I love bright colours on you Smile It looks like you are ready for Spring (I know I am, it's been colder than average here in SC this winter)!

I hope to participate this week... I do love pink and orange (might dig up old photos if I can't make a new look...) Big Grin

Robyn, love those pinks and oranges on you -- it makes your eyes look so blue! I realize it's a pretty bright look for everyday, but I bet you can totally pull off a similar look for everyday with a softer pink and orange/peach Smile

Thanks everyone! I think I will definitely start experimenting with creating a similar look for my every day life using softer colors. Thank you Bridget for selecting the pink/orange combination. I probably would not have paired these on my own.

Wow, Robyn! Who would of known you could do that? Looks great! It reminds me of Miami where I used to live. But I totaly understand about not wearing it around...what works for art and fun does not always work for every day. But you are right about these bolder looks giving ideas for every day looks.

Meh, I don't like this look too much, but we learn from our lesser mistakes, no? Next time I am going to do more of a hint of bright color, more brown. I should have shaded the inside crease, but was afraid to because of all the bright color and it looking overdone with heavy crease shading. But looking at it now, less color, and heavier crease shading might be the way to go...(This is also doubling as my first attempt at the make-over section)

Marcasite in brows. Sabine to wet-line. Kiki washed over entire lid to crease. Blossom at crease and above. Helena inner half of eye over Edie. Agentorange in crease. Sabine in V and a bit in crease. Sinisterrouge as cheek color and blankgeneration lippie.

H, are you kidding me? You look great here. I don't know what exactly it is that you don't like about it, but I think these colors compliment your coloring nicely. And the lippie looks so delicious on you. MWAH!

HL, I dunno what you're thinking, but this is VERY pretty - I love the way you've blended these!

Robyn, it looks like we both went w/Rocks brights for this challenge! Wink turned out a lot better than I was expecting, b/c I feel like trying to put bright pinks, reds, etc. on my inner eye makes me look ill, but for some reason I don't think this combo did that:

here's what I used:
EYES
eye shadow primer all over
buttoned up EP from crease to brow (I think I might've liked this even better w/something like sunny disposition EP instead)
agentorange Rocks! Sonic Eyes on inner 1/3
fanclub Rocks! Sonic Eyes on middle 1/3
lookinforakiss Rocks! Sonic Eyes on outer 1/3 and V
raven stay-put eyeliner on upper lash line
fiona Eye Lustre just under brow
coal stay-put eyeliner under lower lash line from outer corner to 1/2 way in
dirtydeeds Rocks! Sonic Eyes (over coal liner) under lower lash line
AL lash primer
2 coats mascara, upper lashes only

FACE/LIPS
coquille vert on chin, around nose, and across forehead
voile 1Y foundation
luminary EL Cheek Glisten under cheek bones
sundaygirl GL rouge on apples
star bright GL over cheek bones
metamorphosis FP
ultra res FP in peaches and cream
wallflower GL Nourishing Color Creme on lips

this was a fun challenge, Bridget, thx for brightening my outlook today! Wink

*MWAH!*
Tanya
