Lately I've found myself watching a lot of Indian films and studying the cultural a great deal. Bollywood has become a huge phenomenon, inspiring movies like Bride & Prejudice which is an adaptation of the Jane Austen novel Pride & Prejudice.

The movie stars Aishwarya Rai, one of the most beautiful women in the world. I decided to use pictures of her various looks in films and on the red carpet because she has a stunning, classic look that evokes old world Hollywood and the more global culture of today.

The colors of the outfits and the ornateness of the jewelry is as important to the looks as the makeup itself. Enjoy!

Mix: 80% Alabaster Voile, 5% 1Y Voile, 15% Illuminator powder. Dark blue eyes, red/black/white streaked hair. Combination skin, very sensitive, prone to breakouts. Editor, Illustrator, and Writer.

Brown-black hair, light brown eyes, 1-2YL foundation, prefer silver over gold, white over off-white, but wear mostly black & bright colors anyway, so it doesn't really matter. ;-)

Addicted to my Clarisonic, Vit C creme & serum, Glycolic Acid Serum, Melancholia lip creme, and all the gel liners I have tried so far.. (aside from foundation, it's about all I have time for!)

Oh yes, GREAT theme, Mariah!!! I saw Bride & Prejudice. It was a really cute movie. And Aishwarya Rai certainly is one of the most beautiful women in the world. All those pix are just super cool. I especially love the makeup in the third to last picture on the first set. Just beautiful!

She is so gorgeous it is UNFAIR. lol.

The Indian-inspired-theme is great though, those ladies really do have a style all their own.

IMO, there aren't too many peolpe in the world that appear to be aestheticaly flawless, but she's definitely on that short list.

I've ALWAYS wanted to get my palms henna'ed, but never got around to it.

There's a town not too far away from me (Edison, for you NJ ladies) that has tons of Indian owned/run shops, and they have the most beautiful saris in the windows. Every time I drive through, I drool over them. One of these days I'll splurge and have one made.

It's definitely all about the eyes. I'm going to try it sometime in the next few days. I haven't been wearing much makeup lately because I've been working from home. Time to feel a little less blah. :}
