Guidelines (we don't much like RULES around here, but guidelines are cool!): Create a face inspired by the theme. Post a picture or three, list the various Aromaleigh products you used. That's it. Lively discussion and kudos will ensue. We'll all love you for posting the pics, you'll feel really good about the creative muscles you are stretching and building, maybe you'll discover a new color or two that you love. And have fun!

THEME: In the Garden

Imagine Your own fantasy garden - is it tropical, a proper rose garden, a jumble of ancient vines and flowers left wild? A hot house conservatory? Are your colors lush and rich, or delicate as a bridal bouquet? Or maybe you are inspired by a single flower. Go where your fantasy takes you, then create a face inspired by it. Could be a “usual” application using fresh-as-a-bouquet colors, or a complete fantasy face that you wouldn’t dare wear out to the grocery.

Inspirational pics:

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

The first four are from a NYT online article on Spring Beauty. They are awesome, aren't they? The others are largely from a fokti site created by a Kuwaiti girl - she posts some beautiful images from UAE magazines and makeup artists websites and such. I love the artistry on them - vivid colors, opacity, precision, it's all there. I'm glad you all like these.

Now remember this is YOUR game, too - if you come across cool pics, on this theme, on any other theme, or on a theme that doesn't yet exist but you'd like to start, please POST them! The more the merrier!

(Now, about those NYT pics - MAN do I envy those with preternaturally smooth eyelids. Mine have been "crepey" or saggy or whatever you'd call it since I was a child, I swear. Or at least since high school and I actually started looking at my eye lids.)

I'm so excited by the theme ideas. My toes are tingling to see what everyone comes up with.

I love my webcam. My son and I goof off with that thing so much, we have hundreds of pictures! Macintosh has it set up in a "photobooth" style with all kinds of special effects and such. I wish it did higher resolution though- I tried getting really close to it to get a photo of my eye, but no go... it was so blurry, boo hoo... Frown

Now why do I see a trip to the florist in my future? Wink

For those of you who are thinking, that's too intense for me, the wonderful thing about a floral theme is - think of all the many different kinds of flowers! Pick something more delicate - a soft pink rose, for instance, and take inspiration from that.

Alright, so it's not my best work, but still looks kinda cool. I found this picture for inspiration.

I used hibiscus (ph) all over from brow to top lash line. Then used obsession (rocks!) thickly lined wet on the top lashes and a thinner line on the lower lashes. Both lines were smudged when dry. I then used white wedding (rocks!) wet on the inner upper and lower lids.

OK, I couldn't just start this game and NOT post, could I?

Here you go - In the Garden.

In my garden I have two rose bushes that produce these intense hot coral-orange blooms. My wedding bouquet had a rose called TerraCotta that was actually a very similar shade - not clay colored at all, more of that hot coral. That was inspiration here:

I used:

Eyes - Marigold, shadowoflove, velvetgoldmine, vampira, Vintage to widely dry line under lower lashes, and a blend of Moss, Oberon and Googoomuck wet for the upper liner.

Cheeks were shadowoflove applied with the fiberoptic brush and Medium Bronzer under cheekbones.

Lips are Honey with clear gloss on top.

Pics were taken indoors in the shop, no flash that I saw, and the colors are more muted than they are in real life. But I LOVE the hot coral/orange/red lined with a relatively bright earthy green!

Okay, I'm in the game now too...

My inspiration was none other than the model with the scarf in Bridget's original post here. I just thought her makeup was so 'in the garden-esque' that I had to try and recreate it. I used a scarf as a prop but didn't wrap it around my head like she did cause I don't think it looks good on me.

I used:

Face - mixture of 2Y and 3YL, porcelaine, finished with a little bit of metamorphosis

Cheeks - sinisterrouge with dune e/s applied as contour underneath cheekbones and topped upper cheeks with angel luminescence

Lips - wildflower rouge w/balm topped with hush lipgloss in center of lips

Eyes - primer, peacoat pure hue applied on lid and into crease area and slightly above that, spaceoddity applied on top of the peacoat and also wetlined top/bottom lids, obsession applied above crease area, then nico applied under brow, black mascara

This was fun!

Oh, Loida, this is so gorgeous and exotic! Hmmm, get me out of this office and into the makeup playroom!

Brown hair, brown eyes, tan very easily. Currently using 2W glissade foundation, w/PINK CREAM CONCEALER and PC3 or neutral dark concealer for a great undereye and age spot concealer, and also adore the Elemental Lustre Cheek Glistens and Metamorphosis; never go to bed without first using Nocturne

The PINK CREAM CONCEALER IS A MIRACLE PRODUCT - DO NOT leave home without it Wink
