First, I forgot that I was the one to choose this week's colors (thank you Cindy for the reminder). Second, I didn't even realize what day it was today. Having the kids out of school on Monday really through me off. So better late than never, right?

This week's challenge is:

Pair any color with brown. I love seeing colors I wouldn't normally choose become instantly wearable just by pairing them with brown. I hope you have fun with this challenge.

Aww, I was wondering what had happened. Great idea! We keep on giving advice to people who are afraid of color to pair it with brown...well here is the chance to show how that works!

I'm glad you're looking forward to the challenge. I pair something with brown nearly every day (but you already know that from my FOTDs). I'll have to come up with a pairing I've never done before for this challenge. Perhaps a color I've been scared to use in the past. Hmm...the gears are turning.

Actually, I almost never pair bright colors with browns because I always overblend and they look muddy! I pair bright colors with pastels, metallics, and other soft not-brown colors. Or just another bright if I'm feeling adventurous

If I could ever get a not-muddy look maybe I will post here....

Here's mine. Excuse the tired face, I'm still feeling a bit under the weather.

Cheeks: Glorious
Lips: No Reservations
Eyes: Watermelon PH on lid
Suede PH above lid up to brow, under eye, inner part of eye only
Coco Bean on outer lid and in crease, also under eye on outer half of eye only
Sprite Pink under brow as highlighter
*all were applied dry for a soft effect
Black liner and mascara.

This was fun! I went and got my hair cut right after and my stylist gave me rave reviews on my make up and I directed her to this site.

Hey Hottie! No real rules. Some people pick one color for people to combine with whatever they choose, some two. Or you can do a theme. I did "Holiday Jewels" and 1920's silent film stars. You can look in past weeks posts. Just post a new discussion this coming Sunday or Monday. Have fun!

so I tried knocking off Melissa's look for this challenge, and I don't know why I didn't realize this until today, but obviously I don't have Melissa's eyes...! LOL it just dawned on me today as I was trying to photograph this look that my eyes must be deep set or something (not hooded, I know that much), b/c I just don't seem to have a lot of lid visible when my eyes are open - if there's colour on my lid, it has to be RIGHT ON my lash line for anyone to see it (and I seem to have small lids to boot)... BUT, that also makes me feel like I can get away w/really BRIGHT colours on my lids b/c they're practically invisible except for a few milliseconds when I blink... so here's my variation on a theme from Melissa's look earlier for Robyn's challenge:

coquille vert on chin, around nose, and across forehead
glissade 1Y foundation
luminary EL Cheek Glisten under cheek bones
breathless GL rouge on apples
star bright GL shimmer over cheek bones
metamorphosis FP
ultra res FP in clear
AL lip balm in Italian blood orange

this was FUN, Robyn - I hadn't used either planetearth or chocolate heart before, and I was surprised by how much I liked them paired together...! I might even try this again before the week is out!

OMG, I made the mistake of watching my photographer edit one of my photos. He had to blow it up way huge and I freaked out when I saw it. "OH MY GOD, that's my skin!!!" *eek* I decided to just enjoy the finished product after that.
