All things 90's...

plastic rubber bracelets (a personal favorite of mine - I had hundreds!)
Cavaricci pants
HUGE cell phones (my Dad had one with it's own bag - cool beans!)
leggings and dresses over leggings
scrunchies
spiral perms (had one!)
butterflies
big earrings
Hypercolor shirts - you know...the kind that changed colors when you sweat (gross!)
banana clips
LA Gear
Umbro's (had multiple pairs)
MC Hammer pants
polar fleece
Reebok pump sneakers
cut-offs
Steve Urkel
pashminas
animal prints / camouflage
Beanie Babies
fanny packs
all things Nike
bleached hair (think Sun-In)

If you were a teen in the '90s, "Phat!" and "As if!" were part of your daily vocab. You never missed an episode of Beverly Hills 90210 or The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and you grooved to the tunes of Nirvana, Bel Biv DeVoe or Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby.

One thing about the decade we can say confidently was that after the conspicuous consuming years of the 1980s less became more in the 1990s. Not everyone adopted minimalism, but many did as they sought to blend and fit with an increasingly aggressive urban society. The silhouette became neater as shoulder pads finally died and jewelery became non existent or chic in its fineness and barely there quality.

The only concession to 80's glitz was a subtle, but new iridescent glitter shimmer on sheer and tulle fabrics that went through to skin make up and hair spray. For many the sleek hairstyle copied from Jennifer Aniston or the funkier choppier hairstyle of Meg Ryan was the only hairstyle to sport.

I couldn't find any great pictures of the 90's. Feel free to add some Smile

i don't know how i missed this post! i was never really into the 90's style even though those were my teenage years. i was actually a "hippie" back then... lol! well, in the early 90's. from '95 on is when i got all gothed out. Mwahahaha definately a sexier look for me... hehehee. although i remember the slip dresses over the babydoll t's. all of my "friends" wore those things! my friend hope got all the latest designer clothes and boy were they awful! mc hammer pants were the worst thing she ever owned! HA! what memories! obviously i got into the piercings/tattoos. i had around 20 at one time, piercings that is. and boy did i love the leopard print... still do!

i never watched 90210 or listened to vanilla ice, etc. i never really got into anything trendy. I dunno boy, look what i missed out on!!!!
