Melissa (Desert Sage) -

Definitely give all the reds a try. I am wearing iseered today, just in a thick line around my eyes, with black liner very tightly lined. REALLY makes my blue green eyes look VERY blue green! However, the red shadows I've tried so far, do come off as more pinkish. So far I've tried helterskelter and iseered. But, looking at Nadja's look, I think I'll try tempted next and see if that doesn't give me a more true red. Basically, they are all gorgeous in their own right, but you just have to play till you find the right one you are wanting...but that is way more than half the fun anyway!

Nadja, you look beautiful! Michael peeked over my shoulder and said, "What a cutie!" - you are smokin' mama!

Melissa, try again with a deeper, blacker red - still red, but not as high pitched as helterskelter. I think with your medium skin, the deeper tones will work beautifully. ANd try lining with a deep black, chocolate or dark smoke grey, to give a border and definition to your eye shape. Tight lining or lining the inner rims would really suit you with this bold look.

And since you are red lipstick shy, try a very begey nude lip color, or go dark with a chocolaty shade. Either will balance your dramatic red lids.

My coloring - Fair, naturally curly dark red hair, freckles (light golden), combo to oily skin, use 1W Glissade and/or Voile, although I can and have worn 1Y, 1Y/L, and 1Y/L/00 at different times. Would describe my coloring as neutral - not a classic Autumn, not really a Winter, maybe more of a Late Fall?

My look in the Rocks gallery with reds is iseered and helterskelter - both are very cool, blue based, pinked reds on me. Harder to wear for this warm girl than taintedlove and ringoffire (which i ADORE!!).

I suspect that either of those would be amazing on you, as will slowburn and nightshift. Tempted would also make a very interesting red look for you - it's a bit more "true" or clear red than iseered and helterskelter are, at least to my eyes and on my skin. Try using tempted with one or more of the other reds, in a sculpted application - tempted as your all over color, one of the darker, blacker or browner reds in the inner corner and outer wedge (v), then use Umber or Ebony or another black to "outline" the outer wedge and the socket line (above the natural crease) so that you get this awesome smokey effect when the eye is open, and when you look down or blink, SHAZAM! RED!!. Line with chocolate mousse gel liner or blackout on upper lid, use your smokey black or black-brown dusted and smudged under lower lashes, then vamp your pout in a beiged nude OR a chocolaty color (a bit Biba and 1920s girl, that dark lip) and whoa nellie! A hot, sinister, dangerous dark angel.

Ok, I tried the Helterskelter look today, I wish I would have read this this am and wore it with the Pewter. Rats!
Anyhow, I went with a red/gold look using Sunstar over lid. Daphne from lid to eyebrow. Used helterskelter as a wetliner then smudged up a little onto the lid.
A gal that has been helping us in our clinic commented on it today, she said, "I always look forward to seeing what you will wear on your eyes from day to day, it's neat to see what you come in with." Of course, I mentioned AL and the endless choices.

I agree, you look great!

Every time I've tried to wear red or burgundy eyeshadow, it just makes it looks like my eyes are red from crying! Maybe it has something to do with my skintone and eyecolor? Your eyes look darker than mine and seem to contrast nicely with the red eyeshadow Smile

I haven't tried burgundy or red eyeliner, but I'm sure that if I line my lower lid with it I'll get that crying effect. Maybe it would work if I only lined the top? And used a not-red color of shadow on my lid? I am brainstorming as I type Wink

I get those same type of "what is she wearing today" comments from my co-workers, that Melissa gets!! Yesterday I got my nails done, and my nail tech is working on the gal that is before me, and she looked up, saw me, didn't say hi, it was a mouth drop and a "WHEEERE did you get the red eyeliner?!?" So I gave her the rest of my sample of iseered (that's I was wearing), and told the two of them about Aromaleigh. Hopefully we will have a couple of more converts! My nail tech is a complete punky girl, complete with blue streaks in her hair!

Ok so I tried to find sunstar and I am not seeing it...?

Wouldn't it be kinda cool to have an index by color name on the website, that would list (or take you there) where that item is?

Kelli,

You can find any color (or product) by typing the name of it in to the search box at the top of the left-hand column. (edited: of the website, not the forum- sorry I did not specify the first time I posted this)

Creating such an index would take me a crazy amount of time as we have hundreds of eyeshadow colors and that is a lot of programming (that's time I don't have) but the search function is easy to use and works very well. I know it is widely used because I am able to see what everyone searches for because it keeps track of it. Color names are the most common thing that is entered into the search box.

Hope this helps!
