Hopefully you guys will have fun with this one. Time to dig through those old family vacation photos. Let's base a look off a favorite (or not so favorite) destination photo - even if that fav destination is right outside your front door. Here is some inspiration.








I think this will be great with a wide range of colors - skiing on a snowy mountain, snorkling a tropical reef, partying on the French Riviera! Or MissTat - you can just look out those windows at the lush Puerto Rican mountains!

My desktop is a picture of Niagara Falls from... years ago. Absolutely gorgeous. Green, grey, every blue imaginable...



There's the picture if anyone else wants to use it... I might change my mind and use Chicago instead.

Ok so I was bored, home alone, and decided to have a go at this one. I only did one eye because it's late and doing both would mean more time/ more makeup to wash off and I'm just lazy like that :P I also used a fake eyelash strategically placed to make it seem like I had any lashes, because, again, mascara is kinda hard to remove and I'm feeling particularly lazy :P
Anyway. Here's my inspiration pic:

It's from Memorial Day weekend last year, at Culebra Island (a small-er island off the East coast of PR)
Aaand here's my fabulous only-eye with the mysterious floating eyelash!



Used:
dark blue cream shadow as base on lid
champagne cream shadow up to brow
Myrtha (En Pointe) from brow to crease, Flutura's Cloud winged out on the outer corner, Planetearth on the center of the lid, Return to Tiffany's on the inner lid, lower lash line also winged out. Wizard gold on the inner part blending out all the edges and to fill in the little triangle on the outer corner from the wings. I added a false eyelash with a green tint just for fun.
Hope this wasn't too long! ( a single eye doesn't merit an entire post for itself...) and I also hope that you like it. Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

Nix - what a breathtaking photo. I now bumped Niagra Falls up on my "to do" list.

Even though I now live in Oregon, I'm originally from Pennsylvania. And, since it's getting closer to autumn and I really miss the dramatic leaf change that happens over there, I came up with this while looking through my binder. Hope you like!

Eye shadow primer in light
Golden Chrysalis on inner 1/3 of lid and smudged under lower lid
Spread your Wings in middle 1/3 of lid
Crimson Mimicry on outer 1/3 of lid
Zephyr's Breeze to highlight in crease and inner corner of eye
le Mystere #95 wet lined on upper lid and in waterline

Primer and Sylph all over lid
Return to Tiffany's and a bit of Endless Sea... on the inside corner.
A little bit of Avalon, then some Elegie on the outside corners






I meant to do a city... but it accidentally ended up looking more like the picture I posted up there of Niagara Falls. oops?

I like the fake lashes... but I have no idea how you get them to stay on... or even where you get them from.

Pretty, pretty Nix! And if you really want to play with false lashes, there are some awesome Youtube vids on how to apply them. I think Momof2Angels from this forum has one too (but I could be wrong).

Nix, I have to tell you, they're not exactly "easy". It does take a lot of practice. However, once you get it down, the effects will be well worth it.
Now's a good time to hunt the drug stores, halloween shops, etc for cool/crazy lashes. They have them out for halloween and most of them are very cheap!
For "regular" lashes I just get mine at walgreen's (Ardell brand). They are natural looking and inexpensive. The ones I'm wearing here are from Hot Topic

Here is my version of this. I decided to use a picture that is not so beautiful but would give me a good mix of colors.

This is from my Christmas vacation in Hawaii in '07 with my bf and his family. I took this photo of this fat koi at the airport in Honolulu while waiting for our flight home (which was 6 HOURS late.) Anywho.

I used AgentOrange and SpreadYourWings Les Papillons on the inner lid, Bete Noir Amarante in crease and on the outer lid, then lined with Return to Tiffany's HITC and PlanetEarth combined on outer half of bottom lashes. Finally, used Air & Light Les Papillons as highlight on browbone. A little blush on cheeks and metamorphosis all over. Enjoy!
