Hi everyone!

I'm new to aromaleigh...just ordered my mom a belated mothers day gift: gothic lolita nourishing color creme for lips in pinafore. I love everything on the site but don't have a lot of money to invest on makeup at the moment. I was just wondering if I could try some themes or play with the makeup I currently have and post it on here. Maybe you girls could let me know what aromaleigh colors could replace some the less-awesome-quality ones I have now.
I would really love some advice on how to get the most for my money on this site. I have some mineral makeup from other companies that I received as gifts but I feel like this site offers a lot more in terms of blending and color creation. Since I am not familiar with these products, I would love some help understanding what kinds of effects you can get from certain colors and products.
By the way, my name is October. Autumn &Amber are the names people most often accidentally call me!
Glad to be on the site. Hopefully I'll be able to post some fun makeup pics soon and start building my aromalaigh collection!

The great thing about Aromaleigh is you can sample to your hearts content.

Look at the colors you really love and are drawn to and then start sampling.
Samples are shipped free with a $10 minimum.
Everything mixes with everything. I've put things together from every line that Kristen makes.
So...see what you are drawn to, and begin sampling. The samples last a while, so you can really see what you like before you order. If you have questions about specific colors, feel free to ask on the forum. Someone has everything, so we can compare one shade vs. another.
The shop by color option is great for eyeshadows. For foundation color, you really want to try a few out on your skin.
Have fun.
Kathy

Welcome!
Do post some pictures and list the colors you are wearing.
Some of the ladies mix other products with AL, too.
Everyone will be glad to suggest AL replacement colors.
Nice name!
October is a good month (my b-day)! Smile

Welcome. I'd suggest doing a good "study" of the site and the colors (shop by color is a great idea) and then jump at some samples.

Some things to think about:

what kind of coverage do you like?
What are your skin undertones?
What colors do you think go well with your eyes?
what color lippies look good on you?
What color blushes blend well with your face color?
What do you feel comfortable in?

Pinky

60 yrs old, darkish reddish-brown hair, very pale skin with both some yellow and a lot of pink undertones with a big bunch of goldish FRECKLES - 1C/1CL or 2N Voile, amber eyes, all-purpose warm-cool, summer-winter-fall-spring look. Love pinks and roses.

October, welcome! Certainly, post pics and we'll be happy to suggest AL replacements for you!

Remember you can buy samples, which give you a good amount of product, for not a whole lot of money. Sample only orders include free shipping (just select it on the drop down box), so you'll have lots to play with in no time.

Pinky's right, when you do post, tell us what areas you'd like to focus on, and we can help steer you in the right direction.

I agree..... sample, sample, sample! I am determined to collect every sample that I can so that I will have the optimum variety! As far as "eyes" go I only need the Sonic Rocks! Collection and the Pure Hues Collection now. It's like Poke'mon - "Gotta Have Em' All!" Hehe. Plus, this way I will never get bored! Big Grin And you really do get alot of use out of one sample! I'd say I get about 5 uses out of my sample baggies when I use a primer first.

ok, so I did some playing around with some of the stuff I have now and heres what I came up with.

(sorry if the pics are big but i'm having trouble with the codes for smaller pics)

the blues are both maybelline and I would like to find replacements; one is just a medium blue, a little smokey; and the other is a bright turquoise with seafoam shimmers. The other colors are lemon mineral shadow and bronze glitter liner.

by the way, i really like nautical looks...any suggestions?

Very pretty! Since I'm terrible with blues, yellows, and golds, check out the Shop by Color feature, that should help!
